The problem with the whole Nikon vs Canon thing, is that there are such slight differences, that it all comes down to personal preference. I picked Nikon over Canon for the simple fact that Canon did not have an entry level SLR that offered use of an SD card.
Besides, most pros will tell you, it has nothing to do with your equipment.

i chose Canon cause i have always used them and am just more accustomed to their equipment. As far as quality of equipment it does help to have the right tools and to have a quality tool to make a good shot. even the glass in a lens can make a HUGE difference in color and sharpness.
I love my Canon 5d but i wouldn't be apposed to trying a Nikon of equal quality.

i just wish i had more material to shoot. everything in memphis is so run down and we have absolutely no architecture at all. sucks sooo bad. most of the areas that area worth shooting have hobos and drug dealers so it's not a place i wanna take $4,000 worth of equipment to.

yeah i saw ur point. i am making the same one. nice equipment makes it soo much easier. ha ha
I pride myself on not photoshopping anything i do. All my work is right from the camera.
what most beginners don't understand is that even a pro photographer takes 100's of photos a day and only end up using like 5 ha ha.
here are some more photos.
ok i'm done for now. ha ha

I took 1082 pictures at Summit Point (shots of the PTuning cars), I used maybe 80 of them?
What lens were you using for the Auto Show pictures? My standard f3.5 lens couldn't let enough lighting in for me to take a good clean shot. I was hovering between 1/10 and 1/20 for all the shots, so half of them came out like crap... .

i was still using my canon 10d with a really crappy 28-80mm starter kit lens. think it was a 3.5-5.6 lens. i was opened up to 3.5 and no idea of the shutter speed. sure i was shooting at 800iso tho. just a steady hand.
