both poses look a bit rigid and unnatural but the lighting works for the most part

here are the only ones I kept from the shoot yesterday. Not really proud of any of them. Lighting was really blah and drab. Location was a little difficult to shoot. I think Zach grabbed some nicer images than I did.

Thanks Elija and NynytC.

Elija, is that the 70-200 f/2.8 IS? I've been thinking about getting that..

edit: Just read your sig. How do you like that 70-200 anyway?

Oh, and for those interested in playing with light for not-so expensive check out strobist.blogspot.com

It's been the inspiration and the building blocks for my lighting..

is there anything more exciting to shoot when you guys go on these photowalks?

i'm not trying to be rude. i want to totally like your guys' pictures. you can tell they are quality. im trying so hard to like the "artistic" shots of like... a chunk of wood. or a railroad spike. or a beer can. i feel like im doing something wrong... i see all kinds of other people like these kind of pictures and then they do nothing for me. what's wrong with me?

can you guys be sympathetic towards my A.D.D. and try and find like an explosion? or maybe some crazy looking people. or something fast! or loud. what were we talking about again?

Dude, we live in memphis. There is no interesting people photography to be taken or really photogenic places to photograph so we just enjoy going to different spots and making the best out of what we find. Perhaps you're immune to this syndrome seeing as you travel all around the world and see some really interesting people and places. I think a big problem here is that Memphis has no culture unless you are to go shoot in a blues club or something of that nature. Memphis is a transient city and if you go downtown to "beale st.", its clean and unspoiled by a real culture with nothing but wandering tourists. Trust me, i cant wait for the opportunity to head to downtown New Orleans and try my hand at some real street photography.
