DSLR Owners Unite! (56k? Are you kidding me?)

I'm a Novice.... I am by definition a Professional Photographer - but i feel that on a skill level i am not.
These are RAW photos - not photoshopped!
photos i took on my friend's NIKON D80: P MODE, ISO 200, MATRIX METERING no external flash (for most photos here)








On My new NIKON D90: Manual Mode for most.... setting constantly changed....no external flash

Well here is my Christmas tree hanging from the ceiling! DON'T PANIC it was done like this on purpose! 
BTW it's decorated with christmas cupcakes and snow cones perfect for diabetics!

yea, im a big fan of shallow dof.
there are very rare instances that Id ever want a photo completely in focus, IMO a completely in focus image yields an extremely flat looing photo.

When the light is right, the editing is kept to a minimal!

I believe you were encouraging me when I first got the camera a little over a month ago.
Ive used it at about 3 events and I think Ive gotten the hang of it now.
I dont see how anyone can use a dslr and take a good photo with presets. When i first got the camera all my pictures came out bad. Then I learned tv, av, modes and when I want full control i.e. some indoor lighting situations I have to use full manual and adjust iso , shutter speed, metering, ai drive and aperture. Seems like its the only way to use it to get decent shots.
