Jasper, I would definitely wait till the sun drops more. U are getting deep blacks and blown highlights cause there is still tons of contrast.

Elijah, do you mean "tons of contrast" from the sunset? Best to shoot just before the sun goes down? I think it was dark about an hour after these shots.

 

then it means ur post work has something to do with it. I'm assuming u boost contrast instead of messing with the CURVES?

Not at all. These shots are 100% natural minus the resizing and ghetto watermark. That's why I'm so proud of them. I finally understand why simple is better.

But my post work, yes. I almost always played with contrast. I don't have any knowledge of curves yet...
