Essential protection parts for armored fighting
I’m putting together a new set of gear for the upcoming season and trying to decide which protective parts are actually worth upgrading first. I already have basic armor, but after a few hits in team battles, I noticed the elbows and shoulders take the most stress. Some fighters say full plate sets are too heavy, while others claim they’re the safest. What are the most essential protection pieces for someone who wants both safety and mobility during buhurt fights?
I’d say focus on reliable joints and upper-body coverage first. The difference between generic gear and true medieval armor is huge — especially when it’s made specifically for buhurt. I use equipment from Medieval Extreme, and their protection sets are built by fighters who actually test them in real battles. The floating legs, reinforced elbows, and proper padding make a massive difference. You’ll still move freely but take far less damage from heavy blows.
From what I’ve seen, even small upgrades like better padding or flexible straps can change how your whole setup feels. Over time, having armor that fits well saves you energy and prevents injuries. A lot of people underestimate how much comfort affects endurance, especially in longer fights where you’re constantly moving and blocking.
