Just trying to help. I don't know where you live, but you might also try Craigslist for used gear. Or local camera store. Buying used Nikon gear is usually pretty safe, especially concerning lenses, unless they show signs of being dropped or an unusual amount of wear for the age, but that could be said of any lens. You might also look into Tokina, Tamron, and Sigma, but you'll find it's more of a roulette game when it comes to their quality control. That being said, its like they make a batch of 100 24-70 2.8 lenses, and 10 get out that are bad, where as Nikon and Canon, only two or three would get out that are bad. That's the real difference in the quality control.

Hit up those forums I listed, there's lots of good (and bad) information out there. Hundreds of people that are willing to help you learn. All you got to be is be nice and use the search function (like any forum) before asking questions.

nice ya i was going to try craigslist. and i always use the search before posting. i hate seeing a million questions of one thing on forumns. i didnt think this was a questionable post to search for and or about.
