Default What should i get?! (Nikon)

So im in the market of getting some new things for my camera. i currently have a Nikon D40, i take lots of different types of pictures from portraits to car shows, drift events and parties. The lenses i have right now are the Nikkor 18-55mm, 55-200mm VR, 50mm f/1.8, 100mm f/2.8 old school lens (manual focus.) I have about $55 in store credit and gift cards to best buy and i want to use it to by some camera gear. what do u think i should get??

Nikkor 35mm f/1.8 AF-S
- $199 - 55 = $144 TOTAL

or

Nikon SB-600 - $219 - 55 = $164 TOTAL

Im also looking for a good camera bag or back pack. If you have any recommendations that would be great!

I can't say I've ever seen the 35mm for sale at Best Buy... they must've just started carrying them recently.
