This massive, average thickness is 3/8 with reinforced sides, aluminum skid plate that I fabricated to protect vitals of my xA is among few things I was able to salvage from my wrecked car.

It has 6 attachment points, 4 of which are front suspension sub frame (SOLID). This skid plate extends all the way to the back of sub frame to protect power steering hoses. the other 2 at the bottom of radiator support. Attachment points can be modified as desired.
Vehicle can be safely raised with floor jack placed directly in under the skid plate. It is that sturdy.
