Thanks for Mirror look good the link you sent me so i can install mirror is that the one you used and also this way will not leave the light on mirror off when you turn off right ?

the mirror actually stays on when you wire it according to the install guide that toyota gives out. I just never cared when i had it installed since i didnt think it would use that much power anyways

you can read through this and figure out which wires they used so the mirror turns off when the key is out of the ignition. they use 3 wires because they need the homelink to work when the car is off, but the other + wire they use is the one you need to connect to so that the mirror turns off when the car is off

the only thing is that you need to figure out if you need to use the (B+) wire or the (ACC) wire as the positive wire. one wire will have the mirror on all the time(even if you take out the key) and one wire will turn off the mirror when you take out the key.

I originally installed using the PDF instructions linked above and found that the EC function & Ambient lights of the mirror did not turn off when the key was removed from the ignition.

I PM'd cwekel2000 and got his instructions and re-did my install using the new wire tap layout and now everything functions as expected. Ambient lights and EC work and both power off when key is removed from ignition (Homelink seems to continue to work).

Here are the instructions (I'd still grab the PDF as a reference for the connector pin layouts):

1. Locate Green wire (Pin 5) in the 10 pin connnector. Apply Blue T-Tap to the green wire. Plug black (B+) wire with the spade connector into the T tap.

2. Locate the White/Black wire (Pin 7). Apply Blue T-tap to the white/black wire. Plug the Black (ground) wire with the spade connector into the t tap.

3. Locate the Orange wire (pin 8 ). Apply Red t tap to the Orange wire. Plug the black/white striped (ACC) wire with the spade connector into the t tap.

NOTE: I would not remove the T-taps from already tapped wires. Go to your local Graybar Electric or car audio shop. Either should have the connectors available. They are 3M Scotchlok T-Taps model 951 and 952 (red and blue).
