Default Custom MP3 player armrest dock

I am now making these to order, if interested send a pm with your make/model, connection type(docking cable/audio jack),and paypal. I have access to all dimensional drawings for ipods(including iphones and nanos), and the zune hd. These can also be made to fit with a case if I can get exact measurements.
These are pressure fit into the armrest and are easily removed with the hole on the bottom. They are cut using a CNC router, so they are accurate to within .01" They will be made out of MDF and painted flat black to protect them from moisture. The face is made out of a textured acrylic and laminated to the MDF. The cutout for the MP3 player is lined with a foam rubber for fitment and to protect the device.

I have a case on my iPhone that is about 1mm thick. How would this affect production? Would you just make it a few mm bigger? I would rather have it sit in there freely than being really tight. Let me know.

Yes, I would just make the cutout bigger. The tight fit is just from the foam rubber, so it isn't too tight. I would need a link to the case you have to get accurate measurements.

This goes in the center console so the cable can be run directly through the bottom of the dock.

If this went on the top half of the armrest, I'd be all over it. I use my center console...often.

Nice touch though!

You'd have to drill a really big hole if you were using the docking cable. I put it in the bottom because I want to be able to go back to stock condition at any time. If people are willing to drill holes in there I could look into making one for the top too. Bluetooth devices would work fine though.
