Just bought a D90 and 70-300mm VR so I don't need this body/lens any more. I've only had the body for about 6 months, and it only has 73xx shutter actuations. It's in great condition, never had a problem with it. Comes with battery, charger, body cap, USB cable, Nikon neck strap, and an 8GB Transcend SDHC card.
The lens is in perfect condition, no marks on the body of the lens or the glass. Comes with front lens cap, rear cap, Nikon soft case and lens hood.
Selling both as a set for $650 + shipping.
Selling D80 body alone for $500 shipped.
Selling 55-200mm VR lens for $180 shipped.

28mm in the back not included.

Not a single thing wrong with it, got a good deal on a D90 and 70-300mm VR so I upgraded. I started with a D40 then upgraded to the D80 and was completely familiar, I find it very easy to use.
I'm not very familiar with the D3000, it seems like it's the new D40.

Yeh it pretty much has been said that its the newer version of the d40. I am in the market to buy a dslr, but am worried it this might be a tad to complex for a beginner? Does it come with the manual?

I don't actually have the manual for it anymore, but you can find PDFs online. It has a "?" button on it, which tells you what all the settings do, it has Auto mode and all the preset scenes.
I'd avoid the D3000 btw.

He keeps saying that the D40 is a much better body, and I've found the D80 to be miles better than the D40 I used to have.
Here's an online manual.

d3000 is basically a d40 with a swivel screen, no point in it. even though the d3000
u can get a d3000 on ebay brand new for 479.99 or best buy for 499.99 looks like a d40 u can get for $400 shipped, i paid 450$ for mine 3 months ago
would the 55-200 fit a d40??

Take Ken Rockwells advice with a grain of salt. I see you jumped ship from your loved D40, Carbon. Good move. I "outgrew" mine in 3 weeks.
if you come down on the price of the D80, i could always use it as a backup body.

Fabian, yes it works 100% with the D40. This lens has the auto-focus motor built inside.
I might be confusing it with the d5000 that has the swivel screen, thought the d3000 was the same thing.
hell ken rockwell said the d40 is better, im happy with mine to get my feet wet in the dslr world. but next upgrade will be either a d80 or d90.

someone should definitely pick this up from, Carbon. Good deal on a good setup.
And nobody should ever be afraid of a camera cause it would be too complex. they are all operated by the same basic functions. APERTURE, SHUTTER, ISO.

Yeah, if you want complex, buy the 28mm lens that's in the picture lol. No auto focus, no auto aperture adjustments, no metering...nothing at all.
