xA: FS: 2006 Scion xA $9999 in Massachussetts
2006 Scion xA
$9999 O.B.O. Cash only.
50,500 miles
Indigo Ink Pearl
Central/eastern Massachussetts. Local pickup only.
I'm looking to sell my 2006 Scion xA (5sp MT), as I just moved to a much longer commute and would like to switch to a newer cheap car to absorb 40,000 miles/year rather than burn up my xA with a commute like that.
Bought the xA new, swapped the suspension out to make it feel far more nimble and fun to drive. love the car, and still do, I would love to see it go to a proper home! Otherwise I'll probably end up swapping all the suspension back to stock trim and trading it in.
I don't beat on the car at all, because I have no reason to: if I want to have fun in a car I jump in my Corvette Z06 and go autocross. It has been a very easy 50k miles the car has had.
The only non-stock parts on the car is the suspension. The motor and transmission and exhaust are all completely stock, I have no interest in messing with that stuff as I want it to work 100% reliably for as long as possible. So far the motor and drivetrain has been completely solid, it still feels new to drive.
I've given the car regular maintenance - oil changes every 5k or so. I had a full servicing done at 45000 to replace all fluids, spark plugs, filters, etc. The only issues with the car have been unrelated to driveability or maintenance:
It has had the charcoal canister replaced twice - once at 12k and again at 45k. I'm thinking that's a weak point in the car's design.
The gasket between the exhaust manifold and exhaust is newly replaced, with fresh unrusted bolts and hardware installed at that join so it should be good for another long while.
The A/C compressor randomly decided to blow up the other day, I just got it back from the dealership after putting a brand new one in - the whole A/C system is super fresh and new now!
The car has been driven through 6 New England winters, so there is the expected amount of mild rustiness on all the usual surfaces.
The car looks fantastic and drives super crisply and nimbly.
50,500 miles
Manual Transmission
No options but for:
Rear spoiler
Fog lights
45% window tint, done by the best guys in Massachussetts.
- OZ Ultraleggera 17x7 +37 matte graphite silver
- Hankook Ventus R-S2 ultra high performance summer tires, ~10,000 miles, still plenty of tread.
- Nokian Hakka-R snow tires on the stock steel wheels (the best non-studded snow tires you can get) 2 winters old, still plenty of tread.
- OTG rear hub spacer
- DC Sports Strut Bar
- GT-Spec front under brace
- Koni Yellow 1-way adjustable shocks
- Eibach Pro Kit springs
- Progress rear antiroll bar
I still have all the factory suspension in boxes, and the original tires which have only had about ~1000 miles driven on them.

Not sold. It's still my daily and I haven't actively been trying to sell, as the car is still perfectly reliable and I still like driving it
But it's now at 72,000 miles, well up from the 50,500 of the original post 9 months ago, so the originally posted price is definitely on the high side.

Ah good to hear. Are you still looking to sell it? I live about 45 minutes north of Boston, and I just got a job in Wisconsin so I am planning on moving out there around the end of May. I am definitely interested in talking more about this, as I would like to get a car that would get me out there and at least last me a couple years if not more.
