I haven't posted for a couple years now but I am really wanting to find a gen 1 scion xb again. Problem is they seem to be hard to find all of a sudden. I don't mind trying the importing route has anyone have any tips on where to look? I am hoping to get one for around 10k Including importing fees so I would assume around 8-9k purchase price also looking for something stock with low kms which will be hard to find for the years. Any help would be appreciated. I should also add montana dealers don't seem to have any gen 1s
www.cars.com
www.autotrader.com
www.craigslist.org
www.ebay.com
I looked for months to finally find an XB2, but i didn't want to settle on anything other than exactly what I wanted.
What I noticed when searching is you have to be really weary of the people selling
se habla Español! means DO NOT BUY. (always junk)
LA/SF/SD probably have the highest concentration of XBs, but again be really careful with the seller and make sure you run a carfax report

good price but it's got 88,000miles. Still I'd consider it if I was lookin to buy.
I would jump on that.
Make sure they actually did the importing though. If he was here on a work teem he could have driven with us plates and kept his insurance and registration.
It's got the echo engine so if worse comes to worse those are a dime a dozen
If you're not interested in the rims I'd bet u could get it for $6500 if he would sell without

Ya for sure that is another reason I have been looking on Ebay. Has anyone gone that route yet? Friend had a good experience getting a motorcycle off ebay from a dealer so I was hoping to maybe go dealer route as well. Maybe trying to find a certified pre owned? Also I know when scions were first coming to Canada they said they would honor factory warranty if you could find someone to do it. Now that Calgary has Scion dealers does warranty still transfer? If it does I may look at getting a newer one they have been starting to grow on me.

Also for the money I would be saving getting one from the states I could just drop a new echo engine in it. Isn't it only like 3k to get a new engine?
**update scion has not been fully imported is registered as an exemption. Seller will get it all imported and registered properly before sale is finalized**
** New update looks like it is in miles. I don't know what to do If I should gamble on the higher mileage or just keep holding out for something else to come up**

____ I was bang on with both of those.
I knew that guy hadn't imported his, I'm fairly certain he is a friend of a friend.
Of course it's in Miles, I'm not too sure what you're concerned about
My XB2 Has 102,000miles and it runs like a champ. The only problem I've had in 12,000miles is my fuel injector fuse blew on blackfoot, but I was able to diagnose and fix right away.
Echo engines should be far less than $3000, and if the engine does go I would probably swap something cooler in for $3000 :D
Also - the import process is going to be a _____ for him as I think he will have to go back to the border, get all the documents done, have the title signed over to you, and get both inspections done, It would probably be in his best interest to bring it back to the states and sell, but if he's willing to do all that leg work, definitely lowball haha

I have confirmed with registry no liens and car has been imported into Canada's systems all ready. They just need to pay duty and have cad tire sign off on everythin for out of country out of province was all ready completed. Car has been registered and Insured with Alberta plates for 5 years now
My ride is actually an Ebay product, though the used car dealer i got it from was shady, so it's hit and miss. I'm sure you could find an XB1 with lower miles but not by much, probably in the 50,000mile range as the last production run was 06, so you're lookin at a 5yr old ride by now.
Still, you could look at some used car dealer sites in California or some of the warmer states, ones that don't see snow, and see what's doin.
Plus with our dollar been above par, you could snag a deal. Importing is easy, just have to have your paperwork in order.
as far as waiting goes, unless someone in the club gets rid of theirs, you might wait awhile as most of us had to import as well.

I should know by tonight if the car is going to be mine or not. Needs some minor work new rubber on the rims new windshield at some point and cracked front lip. For the price putting $1000.00 into fixing still puts me at 8500 much less then I would get importing.
Is it worth it to swap out for the upgraded oem stereo to the "upgraded" oem so I can have the ipod hook up instead of using the aux in? Seems like they are only 40 bucks on ebay plus the cable so 60 bucks for a stereo

I'm intending to modify her, cashola has been the issue..lol Love to hook up with ya'll and check out what you've done with your rides. I'm an avid car enthusiast.

Spotted an XD earlier downtown. Had Heninger plate holders. Looked aiight, grey with a body kit, black rims and a spoiler. Like I've said, they're kinda ugly when plain but mod quite nicely!
