Default lost key!!! please help!!!

Ok. so i have a 2006 scion tc. i got the car used and it didnt come with the master key. and i have managed to loose the other key sunday. i brought the car to my dealer and they tell me they cant make another key because the immobilizer or the ecu want let them in. they are wanting to charge me 399 for a new key, 875 for a new ecu, new battery, and labor on it all. im looking at around 2000 for a dang key. can anyone help? can i buy a used ecu, immobilizer, and keys if it comes all in a set? it would be all out of the same car. I need help guys. Please let me know. thanks

sorry to hear about that... I would say go somewhere else... the valet key should crank the car but it wont let them in your glove box.... As long as they have your vin number they should be able to get the code from scion for a new key 300 bucks for a key is probably about right.... new ecu....wrong.... just from what i heard.

That's BS about the ECU, they just have to submit your vin to Toyota and have the new key made, 300 bucks.

Friend of mine got a key copied for his lexus that has the weird channel like engraving in it (is 300) and they did it right in the parking lot at work. Worked perfect. Wasn't expensive either. Maybe 75 or 100
