I just confirmed that our dealership is going to sponsor 1st and 2nd place trophys for a xB and a tC class. Let me know if anyone needs any info on the event.

I have some questions about this event.

What kind of turn out is there expected for the event? Number of cars for the car show. Attendance? I assume with prior shows there has to be some kind of numbers to support this??

Are the Scions only elgibile for the Scion Class trophies or are we allowed to compete in other classes such as 2-dr and 4-dr classes.

Cost to enter?
Time for roll in?
Do we get preferred parking with Larry Miller?
Trophy presentation is at?

OH yeah and why NO xA class

These are just some of the questions I have been asked so far.

Thanks for the link Still looking for answers to these questions though??

Are the Scions only elgibile for the Scion Class trophies or are we allowed to compete in other classes such as 2-dr and 4-dr classes. \? I see there is a best of show, are the Scions able to compete for this.

The reasons why i amasking these questions Smitty is that a bunch of us went to a show last year with Larry Miller under the impression we were competing for trophies and after about an hour we found out we couldnt compete because we were Larry Millers' Display cars. Clarification would be nice for those that are competing.

I am sure there are a lot of people here that appreciate Larry Miller sponsoring another Scion Class at a car show (2nd of the year). We cannot say the same for other dealerships in the valley

We await your response and thanks for taking the time to answer

Chad...

The flyer says that car shows winners will be announced at 1:30am on stage. So I am thinking we might be able to get out of there at that time. I dont think we would be going as LM cars anyway. They are just sponsoring the trophies there. I dont know about not getting into any of the other classes though. Might have to take that up when you get there.

Looks like it is all broke down to makes more then just 2 door and 4 door. So I highly doubt you will be able to get into a say "nissan" class.

Here is the list off there flyer

Classes are as follows:

1st & 2nd Acura
1st & 2nd Honda
1st & 2nd Nissan
1st & 2nd Toyota
1st & 2nd Scion XB - Presented By Larry Miller Toyota
1st & 2nd Scion TC - Presented By Larry Miller Toyota
1st & 2nd Mitsubishi
1st & 2nd Chevy
1st & 2nd Dodge
1st & 2nd Ford
1st & 2nd Exotic
1st & 2nd Truck (Both mini and full size will be judged in the same category.)

1st Place Best of Show (5ft Trophy & $500)
1st Place Club Participation (5ft Trophy

Yes, I can read and I did read that, but as we ALL know from going to many shows that companies sponsoring a Scion Class that usually means we are only able to compete for Scions only. There has been talk that while we REALLY appreciate that we have great companies thinking of us sometimes it limits us for other classes to compete in.

Look at NOPI - We as a group were exempt from competing in all 2-dr and 4-dr classes as well as "Best of" trophies. Why was that? Is there a solution around that. I also know there is not a 2-dr or 4-dr class (from the link), but there is one class we could compete for here - 1st Place Best of Show (5ft Trophy & $500). Does this mean we are able to compete in it since LM posted a link for classes? I am not saying we would win, but you NEVER know.

I am just asking for clarification from LM so anyone that does go knows what the deal is straight from the horses mouth and not misunderstandings cause some one did not ask the questions.

Thanks that is all.

Ok you do not get preferred parking with us sorry. Also I just got word anyone is eligble for the best in show. Sorry for the slow answers I'm trying to get the answers from my contact at after9events. We just are sponsering the scion trophy's to give you guys a better chance in this competition instead of being under the toyota class.

As for NeveNelEstate, have I spoken to you or do you just assume that everyone is the same. If you feel like you were mistreated at our dealership I'm sorry, but I don't think you spoke to me.

I hope this answers some of your questions and I hope to see everyone at the track.

I received a direct PM from Chris for me to put a word out to the local Scion community about the show so I started the post to let everyone know. I also asked Chris to find out about adding the tC class, because I know from experience that we can't compete with some of the 2 door classes, but the xB's can compete with the van wagon class. Chris and Larry Miller stepped up and made the move to get the added class.

Then people start ******* LM for their service. I will admit I was one of those unlucky few who had an incident at LM, but they took care of it very professionally. The problem was taken care of in a timely manner and done right. Every dealership has its issues be it public knowledge or not. So to point fingers at only one dealership is unfair.

So for those that distain LM as much as this and other posts have stated don't attend the show if it gets under your skin that much. LM is getting us what we asked for. There have only been three dealerships here in town that have done anything for the local Scion community. Larry Miller, Camelback and Avondale.

Done!

Thanks Smitty for getting back to us on the questions and seems that it fills most of the needs and questions people have asked so far. Still looking for clarification on the trophy presentation?? I see the link u sent says 1:30 does that mean those that wish to leave can bail then afterwards or are we required to stay until 4 when the event is over. Also is LM wanting to have those that are showing come to Larry Miller for a meeting point and the ability for the dealer and your customers to see what can be done to a Scion if they so wish.

No xA class because the boss gave me only so much money so I had to choose. Anyways no xA's showed last time. So if your out there xA lovers come on out.
FYI - on this subject. Reasons like this is why members with xA's dont come to events. They feel left out. Not pushing you into doing anything or saying that anything happened wrong. Just something that has been kicked around for about a year with the Scion community. Maybe next time, right? Again a BIG THANKS goes to LM Scion for Sponsoring their second event of the year. I know I said this before, but I thought it would be worth mentioning AGAIN for those that skim through threads......

For the negative comment made about LM - I do agree that it should not have been posted here, but sometimes people have such a distaste from an experience that they cant see past it. I know I do with a particular wheel shop in town.

Good luck to those that go and show!!
