Advice on Exhaust
So the stock options have been good to me and the wife has approved some expenditures!
Can anyone provide some advice on local shops to get a new exhaust for my xB? I have been looking at mail order and can go to Mad Hatter for the install but would rather purchase local and pass the business to someone in Phx...
Any help is appreciated!

Its probably far for you but B&M Muffler in tolleson (Angel) did an awesome job on my wifes custon dual exhaust on her Chevy truck, hes awesome with a welder...
If your getting a bolt on, Myself or Randy could most likely install it.

Scottsdale Muffler on Hayden and McKellips did mine. I got a Magnaflow on-line, (they can get you a Magnaflow or a Flowmaster) they bent and welded the pipe. nice cat-back for less than $240. muffler was $98, parts and labor were $137 including a shop T-shirt.
Gary did a perfect job - nice attention to detail and he never flicked off the ash of his cig.. mine was the 7th install of the day.

Get a Cat Back it's an easy install 1 bolt a little lube on the hangers and Bada Bing it's done, I like my TRD it's not too loud but sounds great ,a local shop ordered it for me through his connection @ a Chicago Scion dealership and was able to give me a really sweet deal!!!! And we had it in 3 days.............

A full cat back system is the way to go. Don't spend your money on a "axel back"
muffler. They look nice but thats about it. One other consideration is sound. Some
systems sound - well -- ricey -- the coffee can sound isn't for me. Another
consideration is piping diameter -- too big or too small in diameter -- no hp gains.
About 2" to 2 1/4" is about right . There are plenty of options -- aftermarket or
custom built. I hope that helps but I think I've made it more confusing for you.
Sorry

Thanks everyone for all of the great info. I'm glad I asked the question because now I realize that I need to spend the extra money and go with the Cat-back solution.
Phatchef, I'm right near Cave Creek in N. Phx so I'll look them up! I had some custom work done at Mad Hatter before but they always told me to buy the parts elsewhere to get better pricing. Might try that and go to what's close to me...
In summation, I assume that I can just buy a quality muffler somewhere (had a flowmaster on my last ride) and then have the shop bend and weld a new pipe for me to get the cat-back solution?
