Default AZ trip....

Ok some of you have seen my post about my possible move to AZ. I'm coming down to the Phoenix area the weekend of the 19th of august. and will be staying til about wednesday the 23rd.

Hopefully during this time I can hopefully meet some of the pretty cool people that reside down in AZ and do a little job/ apt hunting.

but i have a few questions.
1. Whats the gas prices like down there?
2. where is the cheapest place I can stay that isn't a run down hotel
3. anything else I should know or your advice?

I would really appreciate any info that people can give me on this.

Let me know what area you are wanting to stay in and I will find you a hotel at the scion members cost!

Which by the way is cheap!

For apartments go, if you are looking around Scottsdale I can show you the best to worst. I have seen them all....

thanks for the info so gas is a little lower than slc... nice
as far as what area i'm not to sure, but i know i dont want to be in the heart of phoenix, cause i dont want to get everwhelmed

as far as jobs i've been looking at online site and have seen a lot of call centers for about 12.00+ an hour, but i am saving that as a last resort. phxloco was telling me about some construction jobs. I do have an old boss of mine that is moving to the area and starting new work, and he said he would try and hook me up.

as far as apartments, if i get a 1 bed apt i'm looking at about 500 a month, 700 for a 2 bedroom and as long as they are satelitte friendsly all the better.

and if you could show me around boomster that would be well appreciated. also if you could give me a ball park price for hotels i would be grateful

Apartments for $500 will be hard and 2 bedrooms for $700 even harder.. My buddy lived in Old Town Scottsdale at these ok apartments walking distants from the clubs and he paid $525 with all utilities paid. Its not the best of places by any means but the price you cant beat. As for the hotel rooms go, it depends on where how long and how fancy. I can probably get you into something for $45 to a $100 depending on your time of stay. I would be more than happy to help you out,. If its a 1 night stay which it doesnt sound like it though, I will comp you at my hotel for that night.

also start checking recruiters out for job placement. they are pretty good at finding decent paying jobs for the area of work you want.

DraconistC, The average price of an apartment here in the valley for a 1 bedroom is $625 per month. If you like your car, and want to keep it... Find a place in the neighborhood of about $700 +/-. I have lived here in AZ all of my life. I know plenty of employers down here as well as what kind of neighborhood each apartment sits in. If you want to... PM me and I will give you my cell # and we can speak about apartments / employment. I know I can probaly, easily get you in somwhere with pretty good starting pay with minimal experience.

The decision is up to you if you want to contact me or not. But as always... I enjoy helping people. BTW... my mother lives in SLC.
