blown engine
Im wondering about long trips in my xb, say 12 hours of constant 4 rpm. Can these motors handle that? Anyone been on a long trip with theres? I noticed a post yesterday of someone who blew theres up going 80mph on there way to work.
I can't see how that would hurt anything. There would have to be another reason for the damage like low or no oil, no coolant causing it to over heat but continuing to drive, ect. Other than that I don't see it happening.

I don't think I have ever heard of a car breaking due to long driving periods unless the vehicle was neglected in the first place, especially not anything built within the last 15 years or so
Granted it's not a tC, but I drove my Subi from Denver to Philly straight through, only stopping for gas and that thing had 100,000 on it before the trip. I can't imagine a new car would have any problem making that trip. Like the others have said as long as you fluids are full and you haven't neglected the car in the past, you should be fine.
My dad drove his xB from Michigan to Airzona and back twice (in just over a year) as well as several other shorter trips from Michigan to Indiana or Ohio and has never had problems. Even going up and down the mountains, it was a bit slower than some of the other cars but really had no problems. My dad's trips from Michigan to Arizona pretty much have been straight thru with little stopping other than gas.
Get an oil change and have the fluids checked before your drive and you should have no problems.
Cheers

I Drove my box last christmas from Phoenix to Northern California about a 11 or 12 hour trip and I had no problems what so ever. I drove 75 to 80 the whole way well except a little stretch on I-10 once you get past the valley and had to take it up to 100 to see how it handled there. I've even got a pic to prove it
Each year, I drive the ~1200 mile trip from Shreveport, LA to Phoenix, AZ and it performs like a champ. I went from Phoenix to Dallas straight through, no stops, no problems. Like everyone else says, check the fluids, especially oil.
