Default Clear Bra Questions...

Hi everyone!

I want to get a Clear Bra installed on the xB I’ve been quoted between $250-$500 from different companies.

Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations for companies, I’m trying to narrow the gap a bit, and what prices did you pay for yours? I thought I’d try and solicit some opinions before I make a final decision?

:D

Showtime I sent you a PM already. Basically comes to coverage, pieces, and film type is where most of the difference price will be. If you need anything else let me know

I know Dagarhart bought the material and put it on himself. Much cheaper than paying someone to do it for you. After talking to him about the price he paid I was shocked at the markup some companies charge for the material alone.

Click here to shoot him a PM before you pay anyone to do it.

I wish I could do it myself, but when it comes to thinks like film and adhesive I’m all thumbs...it would be all wrinkled and bubbled. I’m just trying to do a bit of shopping.

Rockblocker I got your PM shoot me a price on a front end kit, with headlights.

if you don't know what your doing I wouldn't try and do it myself......but if you want to take the chance then cool but if you screw it up .....just gonna cost that much more. I personally would just have Chad do it. he would probably take 1/2 if not the 1/4 of the time of someone that doesn't know what they are doing. Well worth the money like I said.

It is kind of difficult to do. I personally do not know how Chad does it without a heat source of some sort.

I ruined one whole set learning. But we wanted to do it ourselves. I will bet that it takes me 2-3 times as long as it does Chad to put them on.

The 3M vinyl costs around $100-$150 pre-cut on the high end for a 3M dealer (much less if they buy it in bulk sheets and cut it themselves). The local price of $500-$600 for a treatment for something that costs $100-$150 (most of the time less) in materials is WAY overpriced.

People who think they are getting a great deal from people charging $400-$500 are being taken advantage of (IMHO).

Then why can't you find someone else to do it cheaper?

Well, that is Free Enterprise. Anyone has the right to charge what they want to charge. You in turn have to right not to pay for a higher priced product if you want too. As far as I can tell there is no body else that provides this service.

Got to love America and the Free Enterprise system.

Good point. Some guy could run around, workng out of his car alone, and not be there if you need him later.

I've watched Chad do his thing. It's as much about proper preparation as it is the time-consuming install. This is not a quick 400-500 people play it off as.

Like I always say, this is America and you get what you pay for.

Just watch out for the guys with premium pricing that do not have the matching reputation and history.

LOL dang...I didn't mean to start all this, anyhow I know thats its not easy, and that it does take some time 1-2 hours. I have it on my other car, but then again that job was $565.

When I did car audio I would write up 20-80 thousand dollar tickets for systems, so I do understand that it takes skill and time, and I understand free enterprise also, I'm not looking for the cheapest shade tree deal in town. I just wanted to find out who else had this done and at what costs and by whom?

Again I'm not trying to belittle the process or any certain person or company, I was just wondering what other companies were in the valley that can do this. Like I said I had two price quotes one at $250 and one over 500 one uses 3M the other doesn't...both provide the same amount of coverage...

not your fault, man. Some people just like to _____.

Chad does a real good job, I didn't know anyone else local would do it at all. I've got Rockblodker all over my car and so do a lot of others on here.
