I am thinking of doing some DYI painting for some interior pieces on the tC:
*gauge cluster frame
*vent covers
*door handles
*center console waterfall thingy
I will be making these white to go with the exterior color. Any ideas on the best way to do this? I've looked at other threads and it seems like everyone has a different method. Any suggestions?

I have done this recently and it was very simple. What I did was rub all pieces to be painted real good with rubbing alcohol. Then I washed them as though I was doing dishes, rinsed really well, and let them air dry. Next the paint that I used was from Autozone and it is specifically meant for dashboards and vinyl. I did not sand or prime. I just sprayed several light coats being careful to cover evenly. After the paint was cured, I put a few coats of clear coat on and I was done. So far I have not had any issues and no scratches or missing paint. This is the best paint I have seen for this type of project but the only downfall is that they do not have a lot of color options. Hope this helps!!! Here is a link to check out mine. http://www.clubsciontc.com/tc1stgen
Ivory dish soap works the best for washing the parts before painting. Like tc1stgen said, just take your time and use light coats instead of one heavy coat and it will turn out great..
