Default Fallen Heroes Car website now online!

The Fallen Heroes Car website is now online! I talked to Troy on the phone today and I will be sending him an Email so Scion Life can also help promote the project.

I hope you guys don't mind but I "borrowed" the logo from the design contest for the FHC logo. I'm terrible at graphics. If the owners want it removed I'll work on another one.

The Fallen Heroes Car project was born in June of 2006. The projects founder and U.S. Army veteran Robert Basil wanted a way to help show his support of our troops who have died in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Fallen Heroes Car project is NOT "anti-war" or "pro-war" it is a "PRO TROOPS" project.

While trying to come up with an idea Robert kept noticing all of the Scion xB's driving around the Phoenix, Arizona area with full vinyl wraps (vinyl designs covering the entire car) being used as a "driving billboard" for local and national business. Then it dawned on him, why not do the same thing with his brand new Scion xB to show support for our troops? When completed the Fallen Heroes Car will have a full body vinyl wrap designed by the great team of artists at http://www.bluemedia.com

Once Robert posted about his idea on the Scion Life community website the response was overwhelmingly positive so he got to work and the Fallen Heroes Car project was born.

We're flattered on the logo. Let's get a collection box going at the meets.

I'd like to suggest another idea as well. Sell vinyl stickers for the website and have the name of one soldier on each sticker. Sell them for $20.00 on S/L and Scionetics.com. Randy, Chad and anyone else with a cutter in the Phoenix area might be able to produce them cheap if Blue Media cannot or is too expensive.

What do you think?

I think it's a great idea! Anything we can do to help raise cash for the project I am all for.

Blue Media does more "big" projects though and would probably be too expensive for individual stickers.

I think Mark is talking about creating stickers for other people to put on their cars, not stickers to put on my car.

To be able to fit over 2,500 of these type of stickers on my car they would have to be so small that the names would not be readable from any distance.

The point of the car is we want people to see it on the road and know right away what it's about.

I'm thinking the stickers with names are for our own cars. In support of the Fallen Heroes

Again great idea Bryan! Can you give me a buzz tomorrow afternoon / evening? I'd like to "pick your brain" on new ways to bring attention to this project.

Here is an idea. I'm going to send this to a few Scion businesses and see what kind of response I get in return.

A unique opportunity for your company.

My name is Robert Basil and I am the founder of the Fallen Heroes Car project. The fallen heroes car is a project to help bring awareness of our troops who have died in Afghanistan and Iraq. To do this I am donating my 2006 Scion xB for the project and have an award winning design firm by the name of Blue Media creating a full vinyl wrap for the xB.

Once the wrap is completed and installed I plan on taking the Fallen Heroes Car to car shows and parades all over the southwest to show it off. The amount of press this project will bring to your company is huge as we will be showing off the car not only all over the southwestern United States but will also be promoting it all over the world through our website.

The response from the community on ScionLife.com has been overwhelmingly positive (even the Founder of SL has made a generous donation) and everyone is very excited to see the finished project. The total cost of the project is $3,500 and I am currently accepting donations from the community.

I would like to offer your company the opportunity to have your website URL incorporated into the design for everyone to see. The cost of sponsorship on the project is $500 in cash or $500 in aftermarket parts. I will be limiting the amount of sponsors to a total of ten (six cash sponsors* and four parts sponsors) so that all of the sponsors websites are very visible in the design.

For further information about the project please visit http://www.fallenheroescar.com

You may contact me via email at fallenheroescar@robertbasil.com or phone at 480-593-0441.

I look forward to hearing from you. Keep in mind I am only accepting the first 10 sponsors so time is limited.

* If we reach our goal of $3,5000 before we receive all six cash sponsors then we will not accept any more cash sponsors.

Default Luke AFB HONOR GUARD

Hey you let me know what comes of this. I am the one holding a meet at luke AFB and I just had the Idea ... maybe you could do like a PR unveiling with news etc at the base. I am the scheduling manager for luke AFB HONOR GUARD and if you are planning anything patriotic I could totally get us Honor Guard to do a Flag fold, or color guard. You name it let me know how its going.

Oh we could even do a 21 gun salute and taps.... oooo this is getting good..

I just got off the phone with Mike Greco and we both agree that once we get the design rolling and a "mock up" is posted on the website people will be more willing to donate and we can start calling around to the news media around town.

Mike has lowered his deposit price to start the design and all we need is $108 more! So please donate!

Default OK one step closer

Hey good news thus far. I talked to my boss he seem cool with it and in fact he gave me the names of two contacts at Public Affairs he knows that will hook us up.
So as soon as you get a design, let me know.
Also be thinking of how you want to do this. We could go as far as getting a speaker the read off a fallen soldier script to the crowd.. stuff like that. I think that the 21 gun salute and the taps is gonna be awesome for the unveiling, but I think we are gonna need to do something else also, to kinda make it offical. IE speech, Song, Any ideas?????????anybody got ideas. we could even sell the stickers to raise money for like the fallen soldiers wives fund etc.
The sky is the limit guys and We could totally make this a memorable one if we all come together on this. If you can't donate money or time donate Ideas product whatever.I know it's only local, but we could pull the right chains and get thins national recognized. Robert told me yesterday on the phone this is a communaty effort. So let's get in there....

It's amazing how I can get 67 people that want to go see the F-16s on base , but now when it comes time to support a cause that has to do with our troops only 3 are in the donation pot. What the ____. ????
Here is the deal people This car is going to be a part of that event on base. It is slowly in the works. BUT WE CANNOT MOVE FORWARD UNTILL WE HAVE A DESIGN. Come on scion comunity. I've seen you come together on lesser things.......
