Found the damage caused by the headlight thrown at my tC
For those that don't know the story my car was parked nearest the fence to the drifting exhibit at HIN this past weekend. Around 8 at night one of the drivers of a Ford Mustang wrecked or something and broke his headlight off. He tried throwing it to the crowd when he got out but didnt clear the fence so it bounced back. The next time he threw it he said he "winged it" and threw it over the fence which then HIT MY CAR!
Because it was so dark I was unable to assess any damage to the vehicle at the time. After looking at the car today I found a chunk of my rockblocker from my FULL HOOD KIT gouged out in the direction TOWARDS THE FRONT OF THE CAR so I know it wasn't from something in the road. Its big enought that it's totally noticeable in the daylight which will suck for shows and I know it wasn't there a few days ago because I had the car detailed and the hood waxed and it surely wasn't there.
I was able to pull the driver aside later that night after I had calmed down and explained what he did. I'm happy to say he was extremely apologetic and felt bad for what had happened. I'm glad he didnt not try to deny throwing it or get all big and tuff about it not being a big deal.
I spoke with a manager at HIN and he had me fill out an incident report and told me I should be getting a call back sometime this week so we'll see. I'm glad it wasn't anything more since right now I'm on the hook for everything. I will post a picture later on this week of the spot damaged and how noticeable it is, especially when I take it to a show.

good luck trying to get money out of the HIN group....they're not exactly reliable and many vendors and participants feel like they're in it for the money and the money only.
Best of luck to you
Best of luck to you
Glad to hear that the guy didn't deny throwing the head light. I saw him Chuck the thing over the fence and glad to hear that HIN is taking care of this. Hopefully they will fix your car soon for you. Sucks this happened in the first place

You might want to check and see if there isnt a clause saying HIN is not responsible for any damages occured during the show. There is alot of that out there and they will bring that up. Hopefully they take care of it, But I would not hold my breath on it.

I do not think there was anything signed with Firebird though. The should have insurance to cover this event. If not, they can go after HIN. This happend on their property and they did not have enought protection to keep this from happening. What would have happend if that would have hit someone? Can you say lawsuite?
Well I understand they don't want to be responsible for every single incident that could happen there otherwise you would get hundreds saying that someone walked too close to their car and it got a tiny scratch and they want their car repainted now. This I believe is a little different given the circumstances.
If somehow they are able to hide behind some kind of rule like that then I'll just bring Boomster over near some of HIN's stage equipment and let him loose and say sorry....

just playin....I'll wait and see what they have to say

You can always talk to someone from Scion VIP, seems how you did bypass the regular HIN signup for the Scion VIP signup. You might be protected through a vendor registration because you were under them anyhow. This is the reason why my brother and I both have pocket recorders that we carry everywhere now. I don't think there is an important conversation that I don't have recorded, well, except for one recent incident that I wouldn't like to mention right now.
after not receiving a phone call from HIN in 10 days I called them yesterday and spoke with the person I was working with before the event for my power. I was told that he'll be sending out an email and this will get resolved, I'll post when I get more info.

you also got a peice of paper when you signed in on Saturday stating they are not responsible for damages done. I seen that the other day when I was cleaning out the show supplies container. I think it was the red one they gave you when you got your wrist bands from the guys in the golf cart.
