I want to get Scionetics involved in four important causes in what's left of 2006.

1. Muscular Dystrophy (Labor Day weekend)

2. Junior Diabetes (Event to be held Sept. 30th)

3. Thanksgiving (Ongoing food drive)

4. Toys for Tots (Geckolyn, You still doing this?)

I want to know who can budget $60.00 ($15.00 per event) and some of their time for these four important projects. All money will go directly to each supported cause.

I am going to put up the prizes we gathered for the original Vegas run and put them on the table for these events and I'd like to hear from any vendors that have products or services they can throw into the mix.

So far (I need to reaffirm these) we have stereo equipment from MTX, Memphis and Rockford and wheels/tires from Rim1.com and American Racing.

Each event will include a cruise to sites to be determined and we will issue challenges to all other car un-clubs (and clubs) to get involved and out-hustle Scionetics.

This may sound a little ambitious but, having seen you in action, I think we can really make a difference for a lot of less-fortunate people this year. Please help by getting involved early.

Just wanted to thank Mark for putting this together, and send thanks to everyone who is getting behind his plan. Our 9-year-old Meghan, who a lot of you have seen with Brent at some of the meets, has Juvenile Diabetes.....anything that helps us get to a cure for her and all the other kids with D is GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Brent (Dudehitt) and I are in to help with all 4 causes; I finally got my own Username so I can read what he is up to here on SL! (I was wondering where all the money was going.....)!

 

Yes, the Toys 4 Tots is still on. I will be getting the information and posting it in the next week. I would love to have a great turn out this year if possible.

I'm happy to see the interest in this idea and I think we can have a great time while doing some real important work for these four worthy causes.

I'll be contacting a foodbank about the Thanksgiving event, probably Westside Foodbank, and Geckolyn is getting the info on the Wickenburg Toys 4 Tots run.

 

I signed up for the first event but not the second. I have to work that day. I will definately donate just let me know what you need?

 

Thanks Keoki. We're planning an event here at Camelback in order to launch this schedule. We'll lay out more information about the cause, volunteering and donating then.

Again.... if anyone else has any ideas please get them laid out in your head and bring them with you to the kick-off event.
