im having lots of freaken trouble.

first my front tires are completely bald, car not safe to drive.

and then i put this one spare tire i have, and it rubs soooooooooooooooooooooooooo much.

i seriously need help.

 

Are your tires bald because of your recent drop? Or were they bald before hand?

 

I have a set of Fuzion 18 X 8 with about half the treed life on them. They are for sale cheap as I need to clean out the garage, lots of spare parts that have to go. If your running 18X8 let me know,

 

tc = 5 lug
xb = 4 lug.

no they were getting bald before drop.

i get a oil change about every month cause my car is driven everywere. so they get worn out fast.

all im looking for is someone to help me figure out WHY it rubs with a stock tire, and not with my upgraded tire.

 

I have the tires only, if your looking tires only i have them.

 

What size rim and tire are you running?
Mainly how wide is the rim, and the tire size..

 

I'm with Chris, your not running a negitive wheel setup are you?

Maybe the overall diameter of the stock setup is more than your aftermarket setup?

 

^^thats what im wondering. On my xb, I am running 205/40/17's which are the same diameter as the stock tire size.

 

my performance tire is 215/40/18

idk what my stock tire im using, cause its on the wall side of the garage.

i can have that tomorrow.

 

215/40/18 seems like alot of rubber for an 18. I would recommend going to a 215/35/18. Rougher ride, but a better fit. thats what I have.

Looks like your perf tire is 26mm larger in diameter than your stock tire.
Is your stock tire rubbing the inside fender edge or inside the fender well, like when you turn.

 

Yeah, it's a decent chart, and gives a really quick check on sizes. (Doesn't mean they will fit, only how the diameter compares.)

I've posted it up here a dozen times or so...

Dude you're on coilovers. Crank that puppy back up until you can get proper tires. No sense in being unsafe with bald tires and rubbing issues.

 

So are the highlighted ones the size that is recommended?

 

The highlighted ones are the ones that are essentially the same diameter as the OEM xB tires. That is neither a 'recommendation' nor an assurance they will fit without interference.

(BTW, the OEM bB tires are 18mm larger than the stock xB tires - they are 185/65R15. That is the size I am running. Makes the speedo on mine 'right on' but increases the odometer error - in my favor...)

Thanks, cause my size is highlighted, and I dont have any trouble with rubbing or my speedo being off.

 

How many miles do you have on your tires? And when was the last time you rotated them? Tires should be rotated around 5000 miles.

My guess, if you are having to change your oil every month that you are due to rotate your tires every 2 months. Being front wheel drive, you may have been over due for tires. Just a theory.

 

ugh well i replaced the front tire cause it was flat before, but it was got just as long as my older one.


im getting new tires on wednesday.
