I took the tC in on Saturday to the dealership where I bought it, Tempe Toyota/Scion, for my 20,000 mile point inspection thing (even though I am a little bit over that...21,657 was the mileage when I brought it in, which is a little bit over due from the last time I brought it in).
The person I normally would have had my service from moved to Used Car Sales, so there is someone new to work with. Well, they were awful. They sent someone else to take care of my car, even though I made an appointment with them the previous Monday. They took 4 hours, and the person who was originally supposed to take care of me that day didn't even come say hello so I would know who to deal with later.
I asked them to wash my car, but you wouldn't think that they did. The only way I could see that the car went anywhere near a hose was because it was dripping when they brought it around. I asked them if they could wash it again, and they said no!!
It seems as though everyone is all about you buying a car from them, but as soon as you want good customer service, suddenly it's asking too much.
AH!!!
What sort of bad dealership experiences has anyone else had at Tempe Toyota/Scion?

I will never ever go back to that Damn Delearship......TEMPE/POWER SCION...SUCKS!!!!!!! and I hope that someone there reads this stuff. The General Manager that I dealt with was rude and a dick. I waited for like 45 mins to talk to him cuase he kept talking to a couple of other customers and was in an area where he could see me while talking to them. He could of at least had the courtsey of saying I'll be with you when I am done with these people....but No he didn't. Any way I'll never ever buy anything from them.
Thats the reason I love the guys at Camelback. They take great care of you and are nice to you. The Camelback boys ROCK!!!!

yea, that whole dealership is bad...
back when i was shopping for my FM tC, i went there because it was near my work... anyway long story short, on 3 separate occasions, i stood in their scion department for 30-45 minutes without so much as a hello from ANY salesman there...

had a bad experience at the camelback toyota a couple of years ago with my lexus. it shares the same motor as the non aspirated toyota supra so i thought it would be fine for my 60k service. i forgot what happened but they needed to keep the car for another several days so they lent me a newly released xB with a sunroof while I waited.
the good part was I was able to test drive the xB for several days...
which in turn made me want to buy one.
daniphisig - if you work/live near the north scottsdale area, why not dop the car off at the toyota dealership on FLW?
They do great work, are very customer service friendly, and can give you a lift if you need to go somewhere nearby after dropping off your car. The reason why they try so hard is because they're trying to draw business from people who normally would go to a lexus dealership and it's definitely working. I've sent several of my friends there and even have my dad drive 10 miles out of his way to go there even though he lives 4 miles away from camelback toyota.
If you end up doing so in the future, ask for Gordon - he's the Director for the service department and tell him Clifford sent you. He'll take care of you and make sure your car is well taken care of as well.
good luck.

I purchased my Scion from CamelBack and both Mark and Bryan were great! I live in south Chandler so I went for my free oil change at Power Toyota/Scion in Tempe. Holy ____, I could fill up three pages with the ____ty customer service (yes, my car was still dirty as hell and dripping wet as well).
I'll NEVER go back there again. I'll make the long drive to CB, it's worth the trip.

Garage 1217: Same here, do not even get me started on power scion in tempe. Most horrible bunch of non caring people on the planet.
I agree 100%^^^^^ . Power Scion SUCKS!!!!! They scratched my wheels, dented my back hatch plastics, and to top it off I went in to have my brakes checked cause they whine when you lightly press on them....well according to Power Scion they don't. Funny thing is i saw them test it and they didn't even leave the parking lot.

how long did it take for everyone to buy thier car? mine took 5-6 hours! people have said 45 min to an hour. we werent haggling, didnt test drive, didnt even look at the car with the sales man there. just walked on and said we want the white 5 speed. we had the financing already through our bank, all the accessories picked out and everything. i never got my initial detail, everytime my car was there it came back dirty and dripping wet as well.
i will have to agree about right toyota scion being great! i have all my service done there now.

I think the longest part at Camelback was just the completion of all the MVD/Sales paperwork and the sales of the items like warrentee, road hazard and stuff like that plus the waiting for the finance guy to complete the people before me. We already had the financing completed and the check made out.
^^^^ same here ^^^^
i think the title of this thread should just be changed to "DONT GO TO POWER SCION!!!! HERES WHY!" then everyone will read our our horror stories and go to camelback or right.
