Hydraulics .... anyone??
Hey everyone!! just wanted to know if anyone knows where I can buy some hydraulics... and if so.. do u know how much the prices would be?? . .for eather a xB.. or a Cadillac Escalade! LEAVE A THREAD.. OR PM ME!
Best bet would get hold of a couple lowrider web sites or mainline shops..
http://www.redshydros.com/ for example.
All I know IMO that they are messy, expensive and high maintaince, if you have not had Hydros before ASK alot of questions. If not done correctly they will tear up a car easy.
If you want an adjustable system you might want to look into an air set up as well.

I would not reccomend Hyd. for the xB , they will jack up yuor uni-body unless you build sub frames and use a cantalever suspension system , go with an air bag system there a a couple of reputable manufacturers out there.....easy bolt on installation...
I looked into Easy Street and they have a complete kit for the xB it's a little pricey $$.
But if ya got the bucks it would be the way to go

Ok this is air struts..

http://www.kmwperformance.com/prod.a...on&l=xB&y=2005
These replace your struts up front. They do an good job.. alot cleaner than
hydro's and close or cheaper in the long run.
Any adjustable system like this is a high maintance type ride. So make sure this is what you want to do if this is your daily driver. I am holding off doing this to my ride till our roads out where I live hopefully
make it to driveable condition.
Hydros on unibodys can be done but they sure twist it up. I have seen friends of mines doors not line up after they have done some three wheeling around the parking lot.. BUT it does take alot of effort to do this.
Remember its just not the price of the struts .. you have compressors.. air tanks. lines.. fittings.. gauges. and of course switches.
hydros.. you have pumps ..lines(hard or soft) batteries.. switches etc..

however if you want to upgrade compressors/tanks/dumps and such it gets real pricey$$$$$

figures someone from NM would ask this question...... more hydro cars in that state then prob anywhere else prob give Cali a run for the money at least......... I think hydros aren't worth the money ........ most systems require at least 6 Deep Cycle batteries(not cheap)...... and then all the other crap that goes into those systems is just ridiculous ......... better off w/ the Air ride........ much better ride as well not as choppy....you won't get the stupid bouncing (hahaha that makes me laugh)

But the battery stuff is right... My fav 2 things with hydros.. is watching someone play with thier switches and the pump hydro locks up in the full locked out postion or
all the way down.. then you have the messy fun of bleeding off the pressure out of that line.. OR the nasty part.. playing with the switches and overheat the batteries....
then...
If you have no experience w/ hydros or are on a limited budget (can't invest $5 to $10k, b/c in the long run, that's what they'll cost you) DO NOT even consider them. I used to lowride and I've seen many vehicles and bank accounts destroyed b/c people weren't able to commit the work and $ required to run them.
Air bags are the way to go but not Easy Street. The front air struts are cool but the rear bags are crap.
Best bet is to piece together a kit, contact Clay (krazylowgsx) and he can tell you pretty much exactly what you need to buy.
Actually www.airbagit.com seems to have some cool kits but I have not had any experience with them.

i been thinking of hydros for a while. but it wont be in near future. i do know of somebody who alreayd put hydros on the xb. but i dont remember who or where i saw the xb.
We have air ride on our accord and it rides ok. Out here it helps in the rain to get the car thru the rivers that form across the streets. We thought of hydros but we got a good deal on our air ride thru my husbands work. It is a really nice set up.
