Like Chad said, it takes a lot more than begging for free stuff
Take some quality pics of your ride (talk to Chad/Kelly) and basically create a resume for you and your car. Include your goals, which shows you'll be attending, what you've done so far, and include a lot of information about yourself. No company wants a punkass representing them!
Spend some time at Kinko's getting nice copies made, and put into a nice folder, and start sending them out to companies YOU have an interest in. You have to make the potential sponsor think that they are special, and give them a reason to sponsor you. Also include a letter to each specific company requesting parts or discounts. Offer space on your car for decals, and let them know which space they'll be getting. It also helps to avoid conflicts of interest. For example, if you run a bunch of Injen parts, don't send one to AEM asking for an intake.
If you do get a sponsor, congrats! Now install the parts and decals, take pictures, and send them to your sponsor in a nice thank you letter. Keep them updated with show results, race results, etc. They love that stuff
It's a lot more work than holding out and empty palm and saying gimme!

Yep, Yep, lots of hard work, kissing some rear, working it and being in the right place at the right time. Sponsors also like to see that you have spent money on your car and that it is appealing.
Work, work work. Never done. I just did my fourth shoot with the car to send to my sponsors with a recap of all of the events that I have been two this year and what my plans are so far for next year.

I personally wouldn't want a full sponsorship from anyone! they want you to go to certain shows, no matter how far away it is, and have all these guidlines you have to follow.
I like the freedom to do what ever, when ever!

I have alot of sponsors and I do alot for them as well. The old saying is "nothing is for free". I talk to my sponsors on a regular basis and send them pics all the time. A sponsorship does'nt end at the parts they gave you. They want to see the car at alot of shows and driving around. The nice thing once you get going companys will do whatever they can to help you also. But in return you help them.
