I don't think there ever were any problems over PHXLOCO's humor with the two profiles he's talking about.

However, when someone else creates profiles out of sheer stupidity and meanness, then we're taking things a little too far. Kinda petty, really, and very telling about the person they are at their core.

Rumors or truths, either way we don't need people being petty. It hurts SL, it hurts the Scion community, it hurts the small businesses that depend on the Scion community.

It's like the problems you (Randode) went through recently over communications issues or a negative review we get in the dealer reviews area. Being a business, we know we're not going to be able to keep everyone happy all the time, we're going to have to take some criticism at some point, deserved or not. Happens to everyone no matter how good or respected they are in their business or business niche. We make a living off the Scion community so we have to take the good and the bad.

The real problem would be if the trouble-maker ended up being associated with a business in the Scion community. Can you imagine the backlash if someone made personal attacks on another member of the community because, they thought, we needed our honor defended? Geeze..... talk about rumors flying. But, being in business, we have to be able to deal with that stuff quietly and directly.

Professionally.

The members of the Scion community aren't the same though. When someone screws with someone else on here, only because they don't like something that was said, it can draw lines through the community, become a poison in the air. As businesses, you and I have to remember that people have a choice they make when they decide to do business with us. If we let our name get involved in some of the BS that goes on here then we might have just cut ourselves off from a portion of our customer base. Not smart, not good business.

Anyway... I am rambling and I don't want anyone to think this rant is about anything you did. I just want people to think about their foolishness and it's possible consequences. Not just to themself, but to anyone it might become associated with.

I sent a request to SL admin that they see if they can match the stupid profiles someone set up to a known member of SL. Hopefully, someone is getting an email asking them to play nice from now on. And, hopefully, they'll also delete the profiles as well.

I just hate seeing people treated badly over an opinion. Forums are designed for opinions. Most opinions are not designed to be hurtful, but a lot of peeps in D&S take it as a personal attack against their friend or an attack on Scion.

If I were to post something about a business, I would expect it to be used as more of a tool for that company.

For instance: Scion is a corporation and a lot of times they do things that aren't exactly smart. Most corporations do and they have PR peeps that check forums like this to see what they can do to improve.

But it seems that peeps tend to get abusive when you speek out against a business or something close to them. That is human nature to protect what you love. But sometimes peeps need to understand that the opinions are actually used by companies and businesses to improve. Without the comments, they would not know how they are doing. But to actually insult people because of something they said, that is rediculous. Everyone is entitled to their opinions.

Do not take this personal: For instance, if I said something about RJ, Rockblocker, or Randode being a pain in the butt to get a hold of, someone would insult me because of my opinion. This was just an example, not a personal attack. I honestly do not have anything against any of them. In fact, if I ever have questions, most of them respond to me very quickly.

Anyway, most people use comments as a way to show how they are doing or not doing. Do not take it personal because in most cases it is not a personal attack.

TO MAKE IT CLEAR! I do not have anything against anyone listed above. It is just an example. I just hope peeps learn that everyone on here has feelings and that sometimes what we say acutally hurts even on a forum or PM. We should not ever loose members over someone voicing their opinions. The great part of SL D&S is that for the most part we care about our friends and their products. Now, lets not take everything that is said personal.

We are a community, we need to stick up for our community as a whole. For those of you who I have met, I care for you like you were a member of my family. I hate to see one sibling hurt another and nor do I want to take sides. Just remember everything said even in PMs hurts everyone. See everyone on Saturday at Camelback!

 

I must of missed what went on this weekend.....any way just wanted to say Mark that I'm sure that the Mods and Admin are able to search IP addresses and match accounts up. On another message board I used to post on a couple years ago people were doing the same thing and they would ban those certain IP numbers. So I"m sure they can find out.....

 

I know they can. I had an alter ego at one point two years ago and got an email about it from SL. We'll see what happens with the profiles. Actually, I hope the person that set them up finds his nuts and deletes the crap he posted.

If anyone has any clue as to who does this BS please PM them and ask them to grow up.
