Default moderators?

Whats up with all of the locked posts, moved posts, deleted posts, etc?
Yet, people are bashing everyone who posts pics of their new modification or whatever and the mods do nothing.
This is weak sauce.

How long until this post gets moved/locked?

===> LOCKED <===

J/K

There do seem to be a lot of locked topics with no explanation.

I'll bring this up in private and see what happens.

Take care!

Just a quick note on this... if there is something the breaks the rules or someone considers in appropriate, the mods don't see everything. That's why we have a warn button.

If there's something that needs to be addressed and you want to report it - click the button above the post and give a quick explaination why.

As for the locks/deletes/etc, we'd have to have examples to know for sure what's going on. And it's worth noting that whenever a post is locked, the Mod's name that locked it is listed at the bottom of the thread... I'm sure an inquisitive PM to that person to find out why wouldn't hurt if it's necessary.

another good one is when poeple try to sell something that they dont want to ship (such as rims) in the Desert and Salt forum, and it gets moved to the classifieds...

^^ The reason for that is that ALL sales need to be in the Classifieds. If someone is selling locally, they should probably just note in the title local pickup and maybe a region.

This also helps us to control WHO is posting sales ads - since there's the 50 post rule for the Classifieds.

I agree with Randy here. I don't believe in locking threads or moving them (especially the local classified ads). Desert & Salt is the only section of this forum that I look in and I know I'm not the only one. The only reason I still come here is to check out info on meets.

^ I know that a lot of people that don't read every forum, but the issue is that the rules have never changed.

The best suggestion is that if this is something you thinks needs to be addressed (speaking of the sales stuff in particular), you'll have to contact Darren about it. He's the only one that can make any decision related to this.

would it be allowable if we had a classified items to check out thread and people just posted the link to a classified thread that they want people in the region to see? that way it's still in the classifieds and they get the people that it benefits to see it

^ That's not bad in theory, but that thread would just turn into the sales thread that people should go to the classifieds for.

It's pretty clear where all private sales should be, and if they have been allowed elsewhere it is only because they were missed.

Click the [RULES] button up at the top of the page and look at the rules. They apply to everyone, not just those folks outside the D&S region.

Here is a direct link to the Private Party Classifieds rules: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=34

The very first words at the top of those rules are these:
Update 2005:
You must achieve SL Member status (50 posts) before you can post in the Private Party Classifieds.

This area is for PRIVATE PARTY sales only, there will be no commercial sales here.
"Group Buys" must be in the Sponsored Sales forum.
All Private Sales Must be posted here. Including items that are "Local Pick-Up Only."
Users that can not comply with this will be temporarily locked out of the forums.
There are rules, we ALL agreed to follow them. If one doesn't like the rules, one can try to get them changed (talk to Darren), but until or unless they are changed, one must follow those existing rules.
