Need some help for a friend.
A friend that I work with has a 2004 Dodge Stratus that she took to the dealership because of an issue. They called her and told they would have to replace the Front and Rear upper control arm, bushings, strut mount and balance it. Quoted her $1500 for everything and it is not under warranty anymore. Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions or people they trust she could take it to get a second opinion. The reason I ask is because she had planned on going to Disneyland with her family, and with this blow she will not be able to go. Just thought I would see if anybody could be any help on here. Thanks guys.
That makes it rough. Normally you could go back to the dealer to contact someone at Dodge and ask them to cover the vehicle in good faith. Basically to cover the vehicle as it should not have to have this type of repairs this close to warrantee expiration.
With the vehicle having that many more miles that 36,000, I doubt they will cover it. You might be able to find someone on here willing to help her out with the repairs. Someone who has done some suspension work. I wish I could help, but I cannot. I use to work in fleet and there are things you can do, but that is not one. She might still be able to ask (it doesn’t hurt to do that.).
I would say something like this:
I know that this vehicle is over mileage, but it is just at the 36 month marker. Could you see if the manufacture would cover this repair “In Good Faith”?
It might work. I have done it with a vehicle at 50,000 but not that many miles. Could not hurt to try. Maybe someone will come forward who can help her out.

I coluld take a look at it tomorrow 2 see if it really needs those parts.
If you guys don't know by now I'm a mechanic/technican. I do it 4 a living and enjoy what I do. So if u ever see a valley metro bus broken down after 4pm it might be me out there fixing it.
