Default Need subjects for a trial run

Alright, I am hoping that I can find a few people here in the community that want to try this experiment out with me. So we can develop a base line of true results.

What I need is three people to participate in this? You must drive a Scion, model can be any. I would prefer to find one stock vehicle though and maybe someone that has done some work to their vehicle. You must live here in PHX valley and drive your vehicle. Parked vehicles dont help us out as a community.

What it is that we are doing:

Need you to fill up your tank all the way til full and then drive it until empty, dead empty. Keep track of miles that you have driven and email them to me with how much gas you put in. This will give us your gas mileage. I will also want to know what engine modifications (if any) that you have made to the vehicle as well as how many miles on the vehicle when you start this test.

In about two weeks, I will have something for your to try out in your gas tank. You will then fill up your tank all the way and drive it until empty repeat two cycles. You will then send me the info again with miles driven and amount of gas used.

If your gas mileage does not increase with the same normal driving that you have been doing, I will buy two tanks of gas for you.

If the end result is what it is suppose to be then you will all be very happy!! I have seen some figures and numbers that makes me not want to believe it, but dyno's and math dont lie typically. So lets see if its true.

Most new fuel pumps use the gas to lubricate and running a tank dry just once can cause damage to the fuel pump. Seems you could do the same thing by driving a set number of miles, say 250 then fill up and see how much less fuel is used if any

I dont mean for you to run it so dry that you have to push it to the gas station. Put I am sure you get the point of what I meant

xA with a intake I'll try it.

I'd just say go until the gas light comes on. My car averages 33mpg, 80/20 city/freeway.

Agreed on the light coming on.

Cool so we got

Two xB's - one stock and one not
One xA - bascially stock
One tC - a few mods.

Cool, lets get to driving. If you can send me the total mileage on the car when you go to fill up that would be great. Also how many gallons of gas you used and the miles driven for each tank.

We should also get gas at the same place, same pump for this experiment. So write down the place/pump when you go fill up so you can remember to return there.
I've noticed that I get less mpg using Sam's Club gas. Perhaps avoid Chevron (techron) so there's no additives in the fuel.

I thought I was the only one who was this neurotic.

Chad, I can send you my spreadsheet of mileage on my OEM tC, but I cannot do the experiment part... Do you want my data anyway? I typically drive to the gas station when I am on R with the light on...
