Default New to AZ... need some help...

Ok, here's the deal... Next week I will be leaving PA and be moving to AZ. I have a long drive and once I get out there I have a few things I need to do. 2 on the top of my list are getting my tC registered in AZ and to have the windows tinted. This is were I need some help.

First, I will be living in Surprise to start and am looking for opinions for a dealership. I like to use them for my regular maintenances and such want to hear the good experiences. I am willing to travel a bit for good service but not looking for hour long drives just to get an oil change.

Second, I will need to get my windows tinted. I never had it done here in PA as the cops vary as to how you will be treated and can tend to stretch the law about tint. What I need help with is I am looking for a good shop. I am not really interested in a single person who does good work. I want a good price but would also like a warranty on the work and the film. Again, I am willing to drive for service and would be willing to drive a little farther for this as I hope to not have to come back.

Also, since I am asking about tint, what are the limits for tint in AZ? I know, use the search... I did but got a lot of vague answers for the first to questions so I figured I would just get some straight responses. Any help would be most appreciated!!! Thanks.

hello and welcome to AZ!! have fun living an an oven!
Well i just got my windows tinted in my xB2 and I got limo all the way around. now its illegal to have limo in the front but i personally have had zero problems with this vehicle and any previous one i have owned. but that doesnt mean they wont pull you over. I got mine done by A Darker Shade of Tint. they actually do mobile tinting so they will probably come to your house. They came to my work and did mine.
there only $140.00 for the whole car, now that might be different for a two door but im not sure. They did an excellent job on my car and would recommend them to any one! Oh and a lifetime warranty is included in the price as well. 623-204-9615 is Chris's number, give him a call n let him know what ya want.

As Chris (n2htwlz) said you can go to Avondale and they can do it for you. Chris will definetly take care of you. He's a great guy!

Or you can also see the guys at Camelback Scion as well. They will take good care of you too. I think that both of them are probably the best two places to go to here in the Phoenix area.

oh and as far as the legal limitz here in AZ for tint. I believe are to be.....can someone double check for me but you can go Limo on all of the back windows and 35% on the driver and passenger doors and you can do a banner on the front windshield. Not sure how far down you can go but I think maybe 7 to 9 inches somewhere in that range.

Welcome to AZ and make sure to drink plenty of water once you get here since it is the Hottest time of the year right now....

Good ole Conshohocken!!! Born and raised in Blue Bell/Lansdale/North Wales area myself and went to Wissahickon HS. Would have graduated in 1995, but came out here to finish up high school and go to ASU for college. Although the folks are still in Lansdale, don't think I could ever go back! Someone had mentioned something to me the other day about another Philly person moving out this way...good to have you in the Desert & Salt!!!

Sounds like everyone has hit your questions already so I am just going to say welcome and when you get in town, give me a ring and we can go get a Lager! Not really, but we have a couple local places that will do the trick...no Yuengling, but they can get pretty close.

Thank you all for the responses... I will definitely be looking at Avondale as it is one of the places I had heard of and had heard good things. Thank you all again.

like kyle said welcome to the heat!! i too am from the philly area just across the bridge in jersey. there is also a girl who just moved here from pittsburgh. so when you hit kyle up tell him to hit me up... i want a lager too!! lol speaking of some lager you should bring some yuengling with you as a welcome gift haha j/k i too have made the drive from philly to the west coast except we went through to san diego. just moved here a little over a year ago. its not a very fun drive lol!

like everyone else said go to avondale or camelback... they will take care of you. as for tint im not too sure but i think mooneyzs is right about the percentages.

i actually live in surprise right now so if you want to hit me up when you get here we can get together and i can show you where some things are. see you around!

i think those percentages are correct, as for the front windshield, there is a small as1 mark or something like that and thats how low you can have it, i on the other hand have limo all around, 35 on my entire windshield, and a banner that goes half way down my windshield. ive never once been hassled about my tint, you just gotta be smart, if you see a cop, roll em down. also i dont think scion factory windshields have the as1 mark, scotty j got out of a ticket for that.
