I think Jan would be good for the meet. I dont think there should be really any snow. NM is not known for a lot of snow, more up north it is but not here in Alb. I will find out tomorow at my meet if this will be good.

Good News! I talked to my club today at our meet and we wanna do the meet. I'm excited! We discussed when it should be and where. We are thinking the begining of January (6 or 7). I think meeting around New Years is not a good idea. The meet should take place in Silver City, NM (weather permitting). Silver City is halfway for all of us as someone stated. As far as activities I have never been to Silver City so I have no idea what we can do there besides meet up. We should also set up a roll call for this meet and see who is going. My club may also stay the night there instead of driving back the same day. Let me know what you all think. I hope we can do this meet. Laters

I live an hour away from Silver, so what I can do is go up and take some photos. There is an old walmart thats been empty for a few years and has a pretty big parking lot we can use to meet up in. The Gila Cliff Dwellings are nearby and have a nice mile and a half or so walk provided its not to cold.

Lemme know what you all want to do.

Default N.M. meet

I used to live in Silver City and this is a compressed lkist of things to do in the area:
There is alot to do in Silver City (well actually just outside Silver) we could do a run to the Cliff dwellings it's about a 2 hr drive thru some of the prettiest mountian ranges in NM ,then if you are into hiking there is a hot springs about a mile hike down the Gila river behind the cliff dwellings it's situated between 2 cliffs and is very private (suits optional),my wife and I used to go there alot when we lived in Silver.

Or we could make a run to the Catwalk it's a way cool old mining catwalk along the side of a Mtn and takes you back to a natural pool and awesome scenery...

Or we could do the run up thru Pinos Altos to Lake Roberts then back thru Mimbres Valley also a beautiful run about 2 hrs also................

Or you can take the 2 laner over the Black Range and into Truth or Consequences (also known as Hot Springs ) where they have natural hot springs that you can pay to soak in.
Or we could head out east from Silver thru Baird and Hurley and go to the City of Rocks ,and have a picnic it,s got a big enough parking lot and the little ones could climb rocks (If anyone is bringing their "Chidren") also on the way to City of Rocks is Fayette Hot Springs which is privately owned and has several man made tubs ,private and group size. they usually charge about 20 bucks for an hour in the private ones and 8 bucks for the group size

As for hotels there are quite a few I reccomend the Holiday Inn Express (they are a national acct for my company so maybe I could get us a deal on a block of rooms)

And for you Party people there are a bunch of bars, the Buffalo , or the Flame would probably host an event ,they always did our Harley events for us..............

Good Morning from the mile high,
I know that our club is up for a meet and greet with all of you in NM & AZ. I ahd been talking to Frankenscion about this earlier that we should try and put together a meet like this. I think your idea is great. Keep us posted on when and where.
