i figured it was around time to check when i need to request off for work but after checking the nopi website, it doesnt look like theres going to be an event this year at firebird. just wondering if anybody has heard anything about reasoning, or if they have heard anything different than what is posted on the website. im not gunna lie, im kinda bummed right now, im going to miss all the free schwag... especially from the scion tent.

 

The even has had very low attendance. I dont know if it has been from Rain almost every year there. I was looking forward to this event as well.

 

I called NOPI last week and a lot of the NOPI events on the west coast have been canceled. There is no telling if they will be back again or not.

 

They ticked so many people off last year that I highly doubted they would return. I know the nissan guys were giving them the finger as well as the lexus and & other toyota guys. I definitly was not going to attend again.

 

I missed last years show but was kinda lookin forward to this years. What happened last year that they ____ed everyone off? (i.e. Nissan Lexus Toyota)

 

LONG story, but they screwed the 350Z guys that had the largest showing out of there own class, They did not have tropies for the winners in which some never got anything, Was $75 for two straight days of hell in the sun, The Lexus and toyota guys were grouped into the same class as us scion guys and well... we show better than they do for the most part *LOL* So they were mad, Couble of drunks causing trouble with members and then fighting in the lanes for the awards that we did not get, Very low turn out for a large show... List goes on and on.

 

i do agree, last years show sucked. and the year before sucked because the rain, but why not just reschedule? even if it was in like september or something. i guess part of me is bummed, but the other part is thinking its a good idea because i dont have to waste gas toget there and money for a room, the show and everything. owell.... maybe next year.

 

I do not think they advertized the show very well out here. I guess they assumed that people here NOPI they would show up. It was a very hot two days. The only thing that made it nice for us was that Scion paid for most of us to get in and fed us really good. Other than that, the show sucked.

 

Ouch! Makes me not so sorry I missed last years! Well if they do bring it back, hopefully its coordinated and planned better. ID REALLY PREFER NO FIGHTING AROUND MY CAR!

 

i was standing in line for my trophy right next to the guy that got knocked out and the guy that hit him stood there like "what do I do now.....". then he slowly started to walk away with no one stopping him then started into a sprint.

 

I heard that there is no HIN here either.

 

Hin has always been decent. Hope there is, if not oh well.

 

HIN was ok last year. The performer (Huey i think it was) sucked, but everything else was good. They almost cheated a buddy of mine out of his trophie though! He went back and raised hell, they ended up givin it to him.

But yeah, HIN should stick around. Its fun.

 

Hin sucked, Nopi was much better. Too bad Nopi wont be around.

Yep, found out from one of the guys that works for HIN, it is definitly on this year woohoo!

 

I also don't see any mention of the nasty D-word on their site this year. Maybe it will be better without that?

The guy I talked to did not even know if they would have it back at firebird this year. if not at the bird, then no drifting.

 

It would be nice if it was a lil closer into the city. For some of us that is...those coming from Tucson, that would suck if they moved it.

 

but I see no mention of drifting at all on the HIN site, not just phoenix, but nowhere else either.
