Default Question for our great dealers of D&S

Three days ago, I e-mailed the gentleman at the dealership I bought the tC at, just to see what the status was of the car. I finally got an e-mail back just a few minutes ago and told me it was scheduled to leave LA tomorrow. I'm guessing I'll probably get an approximate answer more quickly on here than if I were to e-mail him again, but after it leaves LA, about how long does it take before the dealership gets it. I don't mean to sound pushy or whatever, I'm just getting really antsy about getting it...I waited a long time for a new car and my patience are almost gone.

Thanks for all your help, and I promise...no more new posts...for today anyhow.

What dealer did you buy from? How long ago?
It took about a week for my xB to arrive. Sometimes Patience is worth the wait!

usually two-three days when it leaves LA for you to get your car, but that can also depend on how much bolt on u are getting done to it as well. Im sure Mark and Bryan can answer this better for you or your salesman since they do it all the time. We just sit and wait for our stuff to come in

I wish I only had to wait a week! I guess I bought from the wrong people. This is my 3rd week. I guess I shouldn't complain, he initially told me it was going to be 5-8 weeks or something, but if you knew what I drove, you'd know why I'm getting antsy

As far as bolt on, I didn't order much....the pedestal spoiler, Scion security, and the Bazooka tube. Anyway, thanks for everybody's help and input...it's much appreciated!

Once the car goes to G (Ground) status Scion can take upto 4-5 days to drop the car at the dealership. Usually it takes 1-2 days and, sometimes, the car shows up before we are notified.

It's not an exact science I guess but at least you'll have a car by the weekend.... or Monday anyway!

I had to wait 4-5 weeks and I got bumped in front of people because I knew the Scion Manager.

I got lucky.. i went to the dealership.. found my car there, and drove away with it a few hours later..

working with Bell Toyota, however, has been a nightmare.. i had to order the add-on's through parts myself.... they got them all minus the struts 1 weekish later.. they told me to wait until the struts came in.. i called 2 or so times a week for the next 5 weeks, got the complete run around with them saying that they are on order, they just havent arrived yet.. i finally got in tough with a manager.. 1 more week went by and i found out they were on backorder, not to be delivered for another month.. i asked for a refund, 1.5 weeks and more than 20 phone calls later( and innumerable transfers trying to find who i needed to get in touch with) i got it..

then about a week ago i go to get my first oil change.. they schedule me for 3 pm ( on a saturday). i show up at 2:45 pm, and was told that the car wouldnt be ready until 6:00 pm.. 2+ hours for an oil change w/o a wash is rediculous. i understand being a weekend, it will be more busy, but with an appointment, it should be no different then any other day.

never again will i go to bell toyota-scion.

Thats why, before I bought my car, I came here and did a little reading. Person after person said go to Camelback. Which is what I did and couldn't be happier.

Glad to know about the express service ... just flipped 1,000 miles yesterday so it'll be another couple of months.

Cheers

My car Purchase was kind of a spur of the moment thing.. i had a 1988 Mitsubishi startion, Turbo, RWD, low 13 second car.. scared my parents, and we couldnt get it to pass emissions... My parents told me that if i sold my starion, they'd use that money and pay the rest on a new scion.. This worked out perfectly because i live in tucson, and i am in Phoenix 3 out of 4 weekends a month.. 30 mpg > 10 mpg.. anyways, later that same day, we went to bell toyota, just looking around, and ended up buying the only xB we could find in the valley.. we called Camelback, but they didnt have any in stock at the time.. like bell toyota did.

on the oil change: only going to the Stealerships for the first 3 oil changes, because they are free

after that i'll probably look you up!

The extra few bucks we charge for an oil change is worth it in my opinion. If only because you're getting a Toyota oil filter. I know, there's a lot of good filters out there but.... I KNOW I'm getting a good one when I change my oil at the "stealership".

Not only are there a bunch of threads recommending Camelback, but there is a review section on this site as well about them. And the review section also has some of the bad experiences others (and myself) have had with Bell Road Toyota/Scion.

Jenn, it took my tC about four days to come in from LA once they confirmed it was on the truck, once it was at the dealership (precision scion/tucson) it took 'em one day to run a safety inspection, and another to install upgrades. I'm gonna guess this could vary depending on the dealership. Hang in there, I was the same way...kept calling for updates...

You have all been so much help. Thanks so much!

Now that we're on the subject of oil changes...I have a question about that. I was kind of thinking about buying the maintenance plan along with the extended warranty, would the express lube be covered under that at CB?

Also, I had talked to my salesmen about the warranty, and told him I was interested in the one that was $1350, whichever one that is. Then I asked him if there was sales tax on top of that and told me yes, but if I purchased the maintenance plan there wouldn't be any sales tax. How does that work? I tried to have him explain it to me but I wasn't understanding him fully I don't think. Any input would be great. Thanks guys!
