i'm a teachers assistant at a junior high school call Orangedale Prep Academy, its it s first year as a junior high school, the kids in the neighborhood a lot of them really have never let the city and are really great kids, they have had multiple fundraisers and so far its going ok but always have room for improvement. i was thinking maybe a small charity car show to raise money for future clubs and activities for this young school the kids would go crazy seeing some of the crazy cool cars and having a all around good time, i'm going to bring the idea up to the student government and see what they say if we end up going through with it would Scion Apocalypse be interested in showing up and help supporting this school? like i said great kids just don't really get a chance to see a lot of things hat go on in arizona and all that, let me know guys

You know SA is always there for charity events. Let me know what you come up with and then we can work out some dates.

Probably since they are the only club that does anything. I can not think of the last time I seen any of the other local clubs at all.

Maybe we should get a Military/Vet club going...seems like there's enough of us...heh. Me & a couple AD AF types were giving Robert hell at the garage day. Not very often when we outnumber the Army types, gotta take it when we can get it. Dez, I'd check around & see if any of the local dealers want to get involved. A couple of them really seem to be involved with "the scene" & could maybe help out with location and/or planning ideas, maybe even some schwag. Mark seems to be pretty good at getting people together, too (hint, hint)...//TJ

 

i agree, but this is a site for all scion owners not club specific...so i thought.

 

Many dealers are a little shy about spending money right now but I'm happy to approach any of them that anyone here can suggest. Can somebody point out the dealers interested in being involved? I have a list, I'd like to know if I'm missing anyone.

There's only one store in the Valley I think we have zero chance at so, with the other 7, we might have something to work with.

I have the Phoenix Children's Hospital event at PIR (HINT: It's posted on Scionetics) on 3/22 scheduled so maybe we can do a field trip to the school in April???

I guess that is my point exactly. People want to be invloved in things but never come out to do any of them. That is what I am saying. If you want to be a part of the community then come out and enjoy it.

 

Some of us in the community make it to what we can. A lot of us have jobs that prevent that. Example...I work for Barrett-Jackson. During auction season I work almost every weekend in the office if we don't have an auction going on or an offsite event that we are involved in. So when I am available to do so, I go. Otherwise, I remain part of the community with the boards on ScionLife.

Not to complain about it, but sometimes it's not always easy for all of us to get there.

 

With all of that being said, there are people that I have not seen in forever or even meet yet. That's kind of crazy, there are meets almost every weekend around the valley and still, no one comes out except the usual suspects....
Hope to see people out and about at some point, not just when there is free swag.
