As much as I don't like the guy, radio personality Tom Likis is right. He has a point he rams down listeners throats time and time again. He said basically:
Guys, if the girl you're with is going to come between you and the big game on Sunday, she probably ISN'T THE GIRL FOR YOU. If she refuses to let you watch the game or constantly schedules other things for the same timeslot intentionally, SHE ISNT THE GIRL FOR YOU. If she runs the vacuum cleaner or does any kind of other passive-aggressive crap during game time to disrupt your ability to watch the game, she ISN'T THE GIRL FOR YOU."

I went through the same thing with a chick earlier this summer. She just couldn't deal with me wanting to watch F1 on Sunday afternoons. So she's gone. (I practice what I preach )

Also, look at it this way:
Eventually, of the two, the CAR will be paid for. :D :D

I had a gf for 5 yrs. I meet her in hs in 2000. I was a pain in the a** if u know what I mean. I see now and then like 1 or 2 days a week. We resently sarted to hangout again. I dont have alot of thing done to my car yet, but she likes my car. She just got a new car herself. It's a white 2000 Ecslipe that she brought for $7,500 with 80k miles. She dont like when I watch fooyball or basketball when she is with me cause she wants me to spend all the time with her and we are not going out anymore what the hell. So I know what BJ is going through. I wish I had more money to do things to my car now but I just start a new job last week. Also I live by myself and pay all of the bill so that's why I haven't been able to get more things done to my car. Trust me when I get more money I'll get more things done.

Speaking as an old fart, I couldn't begin to remember my 1st date or even my first love, but I damn sure can remember every detail about my 1st car. I still feel giddy every time I see a '56 Chevy hardtop!

Man C.. you even jack outside the thread made for you!! It's okay.. thanks to that thread, I do it too.

In any case.. it isn't the whole money issue itself.. it's how it was presented to you. She says, "Why are you spending $400 on that car and not on me!?!?" instead of, "Why don't you pay off that credit card rather than spend that money on your car all the time?" (just an example).. so in that case, I almost wanna say bye bye!

Either way.. I think you should try to explain to her that it's a hobby.. it's what you do.. an expensive hobby, but a hobby no less. You could be doing worse things like spending nights with Clau- er.. I mean.. you could be doing worse things! But good luck with whatever you choose.

1. you are only 19 years old...unless your having a baby with her, you are way too young to settle down.
2. relationships are a co-op between equals. she is your gf, not your mother.
3. stand up for yourself, if customizing your car is your hobby, and she should respect it for making you happy. ask her how much her purses, jewlery, sunglasses, shoes and stuffed animals cost!
4. i have spent time pondering why i so readily spent over a grand in a scion part buying spree, and then set a budget of only $300 on my gf for her birthday. i am a pretty horrible guy. but my gf loves me and understands that is is what i do.
5. tell her that you spend more money on your car than her because you get what you paid for!
6. seriously, i mean, your 19, your not married, unless this money is coming out of your food and shelter budget or some other necessity, keep on spending money on your car if it makes you happy, if she guilts you about it, tell her to hit the bricks and then pull up next to her some day with an even hotter girl who appreciates how cool your car is.
7. say you do sell you car, then she breaks up with you later over something stupid. now you have no girl, and what ever lame car you traded your tc for. and then you'll be ____ed cause your going to waste money buying back your tc, or buying a new tc and starting from scratch.
since this is your thread, why haven't you responded to any comments, or given updates? i want to know who wins in this battle of woman v. machines!

Well boys...I have the opposite situation. I LOVE my tC...almost to obsession.

My boyfriend is so sick of me talking about it, buying stuff for it, the works. I think it's funny because he plays with his 66 Mustang all the time, but when it comes to my car he doesn't want to hear it. He loves to talk about where I work (Barrett-Jackson) and all the cars we have, but he won't listen when it's mine.

Some of us girls LOVE cars!

That's why I had asked the original poster to change the title from "girls" to HIS GIRL.

Not sure who the $300 was for...wasn't me.

Randy is very good to me...and I don't ask about the money. That doesn't matter. It's the thought.
