Default Some Idiot Crashed Into My Daughters xA (Pics)

Well my daughter took a road trip to Flagstaff today with her boyfriend in her xA this morning...They were driving along at approximately 40mph through a green light when a couple from France driving a rental car turned left right in front of her...My daughter slammed on the brakes and swerved to try miss them but they still collided and this is the conclusion...My daughter and her boyfriend are ok just shaken up quite alot...Thank God they were wearing their seatbelts...The couple from France went to the hospital, one had a boken wrist and some leg injuries...The couple from France were obviously at fault and the driver did get a ticket...The Flagstaff police officer was really cool and helpful...Anyways, I had to take a drive up there today to go and pick them my daughter and her boyfriend and also went to the tow yard to look at her vehicle...(Boy was the weather nice)...I would say the xA is a total loss...Both airbags deployed...Here are the pics of the poor xA and the other car, a brand new Chevy Malibu...BTW, I think the xA help up quite well considering the damage to the Malibu:

Wow, that Malibu looks trashed. Good thing your daughter and boyfriend are ok, looks like hardly much happened to the xA when you look at the Chevy.

Thanks...Insurance has already got the ball rolling and are going up there to get her car out of the tow yard in Flagstaff and bring it back down here to Phoenix...

haha i noticed you changed the title. Well...it was a mistake. Everyone makes mistakes, at least your daughter and her boyfriend are fine.

I know, the old title made it sound like it was daughters fault...UPDATE...Daughter and boyfriend are extremely sore today and a little bruised...But thats to be expected...

Such a sadness to see that cute xA totalled! Regarding your daughter's(and her boyfriend too!) soreness, I have an AWESOME chiropractor for them. He's unbelievably gentle, too! Just drop me a note if they're interested.

bummer. that is another good reason to hate the french.

on a side note, if your daughter carries collision coverage with her insurance policy on the xA, you can settle with either your insurance company on the value of the vehicle minus your deductible, or the insurance company that insures the rental vehicle and take whichever company will offer you a higher settlement. if your insurance company settles with you, they gain subrogation rights, and will make the at-fault insurance party pay them back for the money they spent buying your vehicle, and be able to refund you your deductible.

just some food for thought so you can make the most out of this incident.

Update:

Got a call from the adjuster...Total damage was $9100.00 (frame was bent) so obviously they are going to total out the vehicle...I will find out Monday what fair market value is for this vehicle...
