Spoiler or Fin?

Spoiler or Fin?
Please correct me if i'm wrong... (which i probably am anyway) but I see these tC's and other 4 banger cars with spoilers and fins on the back.... Isnt that pointless... I thought these were made to push down the rear end of a vehicle with rear wheel drive... These are front wheel drive cars!!

Yeah and your point is well taken, but many people prefer the spoiler look on the car. Makes them looks faster and they are cool looking.
I have a wing on my car and it sure helps with downforce and such when driving it like i stole it. Also a lot more stable as well at higher speeds (not to mention how fast). Three months after I installed the wing I took it off for a few days. Wow talk about unstable in high winds. Never again.

a good spoiler helps keep the back wheels firmly on the ground during high speed cornering also, and if it really comes down to it if you for some reason get off the ground(like in off road rally racing) it keeps the back end of the car from going up over the top of the rest and flipping, I saw a rally race once where a WRX lost his spoiler and ended up slidding along on his front bumber straight up and down vertical for like 10yards, pretty sick. But hopefully the second reason won't be a prob for any Scions hahaha

pssshhhhhh ... I gots meone dem APC Fast and Furious spoilers on mine! I'da sworn it mad me like, 10hp faster! at least thats sure what it felt like!
uhmm ... yea relatively useless actually. I don't see rear downfoce being much of an issue in a Scion, or front end downforce either. but it gives it the race look. Personally, I'm kinda partial to the Viniati wing, or an m3 style lip.
if I were actually getting into autosports, I might save up some extra cash and rock the Kaminari, but I'd have to have some of go behind to justify the bigger wing
