Default Stolen S2K Antennas?

I'm just curious how many of us in this area get our S2K antenna's jacked?

It's happend to me twice already, the first time it was an antenna I got off of a trade-in that needed some things replaced before resale so I asked if I could take the antenna and the tech could just write up it needed one. This was when I worked at Peoria Pontiac.

Anyway, It happened again last week. In my driveway this time. I went to work wednesday morning and noticed I had no reception. Got to work, damn thing is gone again. I really hate to find a tC owner parked near my car taking my antenna one day.

I'm now into my 2nd $28 s2k antenna and i'm too scared of putting it on the car so i've been driving around without an antenna. I hate the stocker.

I tried blue loctite for this new one, and then red, both came off too easy. And I globbed it in there. I really don't know what else to do short of JBWeld. This sucks.

I live off of catcus by 75th ave which isn't a horrible neighborhood. I don't know what the deal is.

I know a lot of people who stole antenna's off of S2000's for their tC, but i bought a different one on Ebay. It's much shorter than the S2000 and it's not soft. Only cost me 10 bucks.

We sold tons of these antennas when i worked for honda, people have been stealing these for years because they fit alot of cars even vw's. The only thing you could do is 'loctite' it to your base on the next one you purchase.

i just remove mine and stick it in the hatch when im parked in a place with a lot of people. at work i usually leave it on but when i park in places for long periods of time like at the beach or parking garage, i put it away. i dunno, i have a feeling that if i glue it into place, whoever is trying to take it will get upset about not being able to remove it and they'll kick my car or something. lol. so i just remove it so they dont even get near my car.

Got a small update on this... pretty funny.

Well, my first antenna was still stolen, so was the 2nd, but this last one apparently a kid I work work took it off for giggles and threw it into the back of my car. It had rolled under my seats, and for the past week i've been too busy to vaccume my interior so I never seen it.

I was talking to him today about someone stealing it, and he says "Oh, so you found it after I took it off?"

I was like um, what do you mean? Then he proceeds to tell me he took it off and threw it into my pass. side when my windows were cracked. After almost killing him, I open my doors and look around and sure enough.

Now I got a spare either way if someone does steal it.

I was wondering why the neighborhood kids stopped showing the tC love. Lots of kids around the block have complimented me on it and like the sound. They love me after all.

Mine was stolen in my apartment complex, so I bought a new car antennae (not stolen yet...), but I went ahead and bought a Sirius satellite radio. Never been stolen yet.

I was at Albertson's today and noticed like 4 cars on the lot with s2k antennas. I think it fits all toyota's. I seen a Celica gts, an an xrunner just in that parking lot with them.

I was talking to some people and apparently alot of kids are too embarrassed to go to Honda and buy one, because they don't own an s2k and just steal one because of that.

I'm not embarrassed but when I went into honda to buy mine, the dude immediately started bashing multiple people for buying them for different cars and how he would stop selling them to non-s2k owners to improve stock. Then he asked me what year my s2k was. I told him 06, he said cool and grabbed me my antenna. I paid, walked out and got in my tC right out front, lol.

Thats sad, I made it a point to keep quite a few on hand when I worked honda parts. I knew the antennas werent going on s2k's, a sale is a sale. That guy you mentioned at the honda dealer seems like a dork. I sold 1-2 every day to VW owners for the golf, beetle, jettas and passats. These will fit multiple cars. Also, the Elements antenna fits too....
