Default Test car for low glare HID conversion kit needed!

Hey everyone,

I've been testing various HID conversion kits for the past couple of weeks but I need a TC to test out a 9006 kit.

The testing will only take approx an hour and in exchange for their time, the tester will recieve $20 or have the option to purchase the kit for a very nice price. Think below $200.

Just to be clear - this offer is only for the TC since they take 9006 bulbs and that's the kit I happen to have sitting around in my garage.

Older version of HID bulbs aren't the same spec as halogens so they produce a lot of glare... the kits I'll be getting are VERY close to spec with your factory halogens so don't worry. There will still be *some* glare but not anywhere near what the older version of HID bulbs had.

Here's a picture I took of a normal halogen bulb next to an HID bulb. You can see the light sources are very comparable in location.

Anyway- lemme know if you're interested at clifford@pandapower.com. I don't have a high post count but AZTurbo can vouch for me, we've known each other for years.

Thanks!

Clifford

By the way- I've looked into getting 9003 high/low kits for the XB and XA but the cost for these kits that offer dual lights for high and low is quite high. If all of you don't care about the high and low beams and just want low then I can definitely help you guys and gals out with your cars. Honestly, the low beams are so bright, there really isn't a need or high beams. I dunno - for you XB and XA members - tell me what kind of preferences you have so I can help you out!

Hey Cliff. You came down to my place for the garage day, I would be happy to test out the low glare. What temp range is the kit..? I may be interested in purchase as well as glare is what is holding me back from going to hid.

I'll post up the results from our testing later tonight or tomorrow. I used to have the philips ballasts and bulbs in my car but I took them out for testing. The newer ones resulted in much less glare but I want to make sure that is the case for the scions as well.

Thanks!

Default update on HID testing on Cesar's TC

Success!

The kit took about 40 minutes to install and that was only because Cesar and I were chatting. If we weren't chatting, we could have probably installed them in 20 minutes and fine tuning of the headlight height adjustment took another 10 minutes.

The glare is noticeable but not as much as the philips kit. We drove around and nobody flashed their brights at us at all.

I am pretty much done with my testing of HID kits. I'll have some of the samples for sale in the near future. Some of the samples don't have the proper (read: safe) wiring harnesses so I don't feel comfortable selling them since they use the factory wire as a power source. Once I get newer wiring harnesses, they'll be for sale for a discount compared to what the kits will normally cost.

I'll give you all a heads up when I launch my business.

Thanks for all the inquiries. I'll be in touch with everyone that contacted me directly and give them first preferences for purchasing the sample kits.

And a big freakin bug!!!

What's that you say??? How big was it??

It was THIS BIG!!

Special thanks to Cesar for coming over and letting me use his car as a test vehicle. I'll be needing some xB and an xA for testing in a few weeks.

If you have an xB or an xA- please let me know!
