You should see the heat lightning we can get at night! Now that is something to see. I remember back in 96 or so when the McDowell Mtn. range caught fire. I was working at a golf course and saw the lightning hit a few hundred yards away, or at least that is what it looked like. Crazy.......

My dad used to go up on Mt. Lemon and just open the shutter back in the late 60's and early 70's. Same effect only about more strikes per pic.
