I have had my tC for a little over a year now and have added many different mods, but some still seem to think it is virtually stock. I of course am still running stock tires and wheels, but other then that the following mods have been added. What is the definition of virtually? According to Webster’s it means "almost entirely".

So you decide. Virtually stock or not?

most people think if u dont have a body kit and rims and decals ur car is stock. ive seen ur car and its far from stock. keep up the good work.

deffinetly true. I was checking out my rating of my profile..and for go I have the same amount of 1 votes as 5. Yet 90% of the people on the page do not have f/i. So that means I should deffinetly be rated better than 90% if not more, of all people for go.

I personally know why Scott started this thread and atleast he's being gentlemanly and upfront about it...

Scott, you know I agree with everyone above...YOUR CAR IS NOT STOCK...I remember the first day you brought your car home, it wasn't stock then and it is in no way stock now...The only thing stock about your car Scott are the rims and I know that is why someone is referring to your car as stock...You don't need rims for the car to be not stock...Hell, if your's is stock so is mine...You have a CF hood, I don't...You have a kick azz custom stereo set-up, I don't...You have custom interior work done by a professional interior shop, I don't...Rim's will come for you in due time...I personally know that you want them but I also know that your finances does not allow for them at this current time...Family first with you and thats the way it should be...I personally feel that you have the cleanest car of anyone that I know...What I mean when I refer to it as clean is this...I don't know anyone that washes their car every other day and wipes it down 2 to 3 times a day...You pull rims, clean the engine bay, and clean all underneath it everytime you wash it...Hell I could eat off your car if I wanted...Remember a long time ago, before my Scion days, I never cleaned/washed my car (a Ford Focus)...I thank you for showing me how to keep my ride clean and doing it correctly...I am sure you have won your trophies because of several things, including how you display it and how CLEAN it is...Don't worry about the Nay Sayers and continue to proudly display your car...I know you are frustated at some things that you have heard and have even mentioned leaving the SL family and not showing your car anymore...That my friend would be silly and would let the other person win...

 

Unfortunately Janice, it come from someone close within the Desert and Salt family...I'm not gonna mention names, they know who they are...Scott is bummed out and he shouldn't be...I know we say "who cares what they think" but honestly "we do care" about what other people think, especially when it comes from a friend...Scott however, takes pride in his car and to hear that someone he thought was his friend is bitter and angry about circumstances that Scott had no control over is wrong...

I agree with yelosub. I unfortunately do not know either of you personally - lack of me attending meets, but your car is far from stock. That thought in itself is absurd. I recently bought rims and put them on my car, but my ride still remains more stock than yours in my eyes - when comparing mods. Didn't you just win a trophy at one of the meets? If my car was STOCK and I was winning trophies, wow, i would be thrilled!!! It would be a miracle. Your car looks great - I would kill for a custom stereo setup instead of my plain old box, and I can't wait to check out the seude inserts...I hope to meet you guys at the next meet I attend ((hopefully soon)) or at NOPI. Your car looks great by the way, as yelosub said, don't listen to the nay sayers.

 

With all the sound equipment on, it might be weighed down to the point where even with the exhaust/intake, it might be almost stock-speed, but looks/style-wise, sure, it ain't close to stock.

 

dude...your car is not stock, screw thew haters!!! it looks nice from the exterior, and the interior...and the system is nice. i like your car, and if that matters to you..haha its tite

 

The stock tC rims are pretty nice, putting all those other upgrades ahead of them makes a lot of sense to me.

 

I want to thank everyone who voted and replied to my poll. It was claimed to be said that someone within our community felt my car was "virtually stock" and that it was also mentioned the entire "community" recognized my car as "virtually stock" which is hardly the case considering my 2nd place finish at our last show.

So all this being said, I will lay this to rest already knowing my car was not "virtually stock".
