Default vote756.com

If there is anyone else out there that feels Barry has simply ruined his own career by not ever addressing any of the comments made against him you will love this!!!

Vote756.com

This is a website built by Mark Ecko, the founder and owner of Ecko Unlimited, who just happened to have spent $750K on the 756 baseball of Barry Bonds. I am only guessing that Ecko feels very similar to the way I feel about this because I couldn't have come up with a better way to handle it myself.....He is allowing the general public the chance to decide what will be done with the 756 baseball!!!

You have three options, which you can see above in our Poll.

A. Bestow it....send it to the Hall as is for them to put on display.
B. Brand it....put a huge * on it marking the circumstances of the 07 season.
C. Banish it....launch that puppy into space!

I just wanted to see what everyone else around her thinks of this also. Don't forget to go to the site to vote by September 25th, 2007!!!!! Scott, please leave this in our region for at least the week so we can all get a laugh out of it then you can move it. Thanks!

Wow, about 20 people have looked at this and no one has an opinion. I figured this would be some great conversation going on, but guess people don't want to vote or speak their mind.

Wow, I can honestly say that so far I am surprised at the quick initial vote. My only thing with Barry is that he never truly addressed the accusations made against him and that makes me wonder??? I guess because of that, I voted for the Brand It one...at least until he proves to his fans otherwise and I was a huge Bonds fan...duh...can you say Sun Devil!!!

Thanks Scotty, I was just curious what our region would think first. Then let the chaos begin!

Why should he have to prove anything... He hasnt been accused in a court of law. The media loves to talk trash and we all know it. So what if he did take drug enhancements if he was proven to have done so. If it was not a banned substance by the league at time he did. What did he do wrong? Besides hit a lot of home runs??

People say he is bigger than he was. Well arent we all. As we get older we dont get thinner usually but larger as life goes on.

Im not saying that I am right or wrong or anyone else for that matters. Im just saying unless someone is charged in court. Charge him or move on. He did it thats all that matters until they have proof he broke the law. Baseball is so far behind the drug testing compared to other major league sports its not even funny, but rather sad to be honest with you.

Okay, Ill go vote now.

i say give it to back Barry cuz thats HIS milestone.. Mark Echo should have just kept his money instead of wasting it on a $3 ball that was used once to get hit over a wall... this is what is wrong in the world.. we put people on a pedestal when they are people like everyone else... we shouldn't care about people like Bonds because he is all about himself.. he doesn't care about anyone else and hes one of the biggest jerks i have seen.. sorry about my rant but its just my .02

He was guilty until proven innocent, which isnt fair. I agree with 100% Chad

He didn't have to prove anything, but if you are accused of something of that nature....especially by the United States Grand Jury....wouldn't you at least try to prove your innocence to America instead of just sitting back and letting it all unfold. No, you are right....he doesn't have anything to prove since he wasn't officially charged, but usually the only ones in jail that sit back and do nothing are the guilty ones, the innocent ones are the ones screaming and fighting that they didn't do it!!!! The guilty ones are calm and collective thinking they can beet it.....

Yeah, it was a banned substance....otherwise all this wouldn't have gone down! The main thing that gets me is a man of that level saying he didn't know what was going into his body.....bull$hit I say. You are at that level of physical performance and you don't know every little thing going into your body.....right!!!!!!!!!

Yes Chad, we all get bigger as we get older, but usually it is in our stomachs....not our shoulders, chest and arms!

They already have their scapgoats for this case and will never charge Barry, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't have to address this issue with his fans. I am sure he has lost a tremendous amount of fans, like myself, for simply never addressing the issue head-on.

I didnt realize the Grand Jury of the United States came back and charged him with anything. When did that happen?? Grand Jury's dont accuse they look at the evidence then make a decision for trial or not

Yes Chad, we all get bigger as we get older, but usually it is in our stomachs....not our shoulders, chest and arms!
Really, you never got wider and bigger in those areas say from high school til now. I sure did and I didnt even lift weights like pros do. and Yes that is 20 years since high school, Im old

Kyle, you are entitled to your opinion and that is totally cool with me, cuz I love ya man!! No serious its cool, I just hate to see someone get bashed because he doesnt get up there and address his fans to their satisfaction. So I guess you think that OJ should of addressed his fans before his trial too? I'm sure with an open Grand Jury his lawyer told him not to talk. That is usually how it works.

Everyone has a Swell HUMP Day

Yes, you are correct senior sexy. Grand Jury never officially brought charges against him or saw that there was enough concrete evidence to charge him(whatever they do ).....but.....they did against his trainer and other individuals within his camp. Who knows why they haven't gone after him??? You sure know they have been wanting to talk to him though!

It really isn't that big of a deal to me, I'm over it now...have been for a while. I just got a huge laugh at the website and thought others would as well. I will say this...I will never be a Bonds fan again. At least not until he addresses some of the issues, I am not saying prove me wrong without a shadow of a doubt......cause as Crispy joked on.....he is innocent until proven guilty, but it just looks really suspicious to me.

And as you said Chad, we are all allowed to have our own opinion, I just thought it was odd that so many people were on Barry's side...just thought it would be the other way around. Plus it is fun to stir it up a bit and figured this would. See, we can have civilized conversations and not get all bummhurt about things!

As far as the size thing goes....No, I didn't get bigger in the shoulders or chest since College. I swam a crapload and played rugby, I did all my working out then.....the only thing that crew on me after I stopped playing Rugby was my belly! Oh boy did it grow! LOL

Don't even get me started on OJ.......can you say dumba$$. I mean, I'm talking old school here, but if you look up dumba$$ in the dictionary there will be a pic of OJ right next to it!!!!

Baseball Barry Bonds hit for home run No. 756 to be branded with an asterisk

By RICK FREEMAN, AP Sports Writer
September 26, 2007

NEW YORK (AP) -- The ball Barry Bonds hit for his record-breaking 756th home run will be branded with an asterisk and sent to the Baseball Hall of Fame, its owner said Wednesday.

Fashion designer Marc Ecko, who bought the ball in an online auction, set up a Web site for fans to vote on the ball's fate, and the decision to brand it won out over the other options, sending it to the museum unblemished or launching it into space.

"We're going to be working with the folks at the Hall of Fame," Ecko said on NBC's "Today" show.

Ecko, whom Bonds called "an idiot" last week, had the winning bid Sept. 15 in the online auction for the ball that Bonds hit Aug. 7 to break Hank Aaron's record of 755 home runs. The final selling price was $752,467, well above most predictions that assumed Bonds' status as a lightning rod for the steroids debate in baseball would depress the value.

The asterisk suggests that Bonds' record is tainted by alleged steroid use. The slugger has denied knowingly using performance-enhancing drugs. Fans brought signs with asterisks on them to ballparks as he neared Aaron's hallowed mark.

Hall of Fame president Dale Petroskey, also interviewed on the show, said accepting the ball did not mean the Hall endorses the viewpoint that Barry Bonds used drugs.

"We're happy to get it," he said. "We're a nonprofit history museum, so this ball wouldn't be coming to Cooperstown without Marc Ecko buying it from the fan who caught it."

The Giants announced Friday they will part with Bonds after this season, the seven-time NL MVP's 15th in San Francisco and 22nd in the majors.

That is too funny!!! The best part is that San Fran released Bonds as of Friday, but still nothing in Sportscenter about it???

In my opinion Bonds had over three years to deal with these accusation and now because of the road he took, one of the greatest records in sports and largest marks of his legacy will be branded for life!!! Serves him right!!!

His contract is up at the end of the year and they have just informed him that they will not be opting for the contract extension next season...guess, technically, they aren't releasing him...just not resigning him again. So, no home game good buy for Bonds!!! Even better.....karma!!!
