DPS has rolled out mobile cameras throughout the state, and they're now starting to put up stationary cameras too. When finished, there will be a total of 60 stationary cameras and 40 mobile ones throughout Arizona.
If you get a ticket for going 10 miles over the speed limit, you'll pay $181.
Bear in mind that your trusty radar detector does not work on permanently installed speed cameras; they aren't radar: the sensors are embedded in the roadway and physically pace you. Your detector will work and give warning of the roadside vans which use actual radar.
Here's where to be careful – but of course, you're always careful!

Hrm, I was on the 17 north and southbound earlier and I didn't see any camera's. Also, everybody was doing at least 80 because I was getting passed doing 70-75. Has anyone actually seen all of these camera and know they are all up, or is this just the list of where they will be when they are done?
i got flashed the other night.i was doing 60 and the posted speed limit on the i10 was 65.i had my cruise control so i know i wasnt speeding.
i can almost be psoitive that the cameras will be vandelized on the i10.lots of grafitti artist around that area.they can always paint the flash and no flash at night no tickit lol

N a week ago I wuz going 65 on the 101 north and I got flashed by some van that had a camera on top of it. Portable cameras, I think its just getting out of hand. The economy is down and still our city tries to take money from us with cheap things like this.

I know that I am not from this area, but I heard about this stuff on the radio, it may be a nice tool for you guys to defeat the cameras. Good luck, and the camera stuff sucks!

Yeah I was on the 101 headed west and saw the cameras and they work and are operating. They have makeshift signs warning you but no one pays enough attention to those. Be careful! Let's all meet up and disassemble them lol :D
Saw multiple flashes last night on the way home from Coyotes game on I-10 between 75th Ave & 27th. Luckily none were me. They had some mobile vans set up, & there are a ton of fixed ones installed, though they didn't look to be active yet. You can tell by the patches accross the road for the sensors. Also saw a couple mobile vans last Friday on I-17 around camelback/Ind Skool. Crappiest thing about them is that they back up traffic even more now, 'cause everyone drops down to the exact speed limit. Photo radar = the suck. Also, saw a trick TCM xB at Greenfield & Germann area about 5:30 PM yesterday. I was in a blacked out Aviator w/black wheels. I flashed the lights out of habit. I'm a dork like that. Dude prolly thought I was bein a dick...//TJ
The guys installing these things is a Company called B&F contracting. They are isntalling most of them and I am a good friend with the Superintendent overseeing the work. So the case in point is that the Magic numbers for these things are 7 over on the freeway and 11 over on the intersections. The earlier post are true, there is no"Radar" to use. They work on a Video sensor combo with a motion sensor. There is a Radar detector that has a build in GPS adaptor that has all these locations uploaded and saved. Will warn when entering the area. Good Luck to tall and keep an eye out. The photo stations going up north (Flagg, Prescott,Show low) are going to be color matched to the background to blend in and thus making them even harder to spot!!!
