Default We made it.......

5 days
1970-something miles
1 lost cat
7 states
no tickets
1 cracked windshield

Where's a good place to get a new windshield?

And an industrial strength car wash.

Eh? Does AZ have some special law or something on windshield replacement? Keep in mind we've "lived" here a total of 7 hours so far.

Yah by law you get 4 free replacments. That meaning it is covered under comp. So it doesn't change you insurance rate and no deductable. The reason this law exsists is beacuse of all the sand and dirt on the road make peopls window craze. And that be dangerous. anywho call your insurance. You have to request the glass coverage or it is not free. I know I didn't beleive it either. Til I replace my windsheild and the insurance rep explained it to me. I've replaced my wife 4 times. she has only 12,000 miles.

good luck.

sorry to hear about your lost kitty. Glad everyeone else made it hear safely. I have no recommendations on windshield repair but I also can't remember anything bad about any companies out here.

BAMFXB..........are you saying that if you request glass coverage in AZ on your insurance it should be free so you can get the 4 windshields a year by law?

Switch your insurance to Arizona, get 100% glass coverage (as AZ is one of the few states that has this), file a claim and get your windsheild replaced. The date of loss has to be after the date the policy went into affect (technically that is fraud). Or kaoticxb can help you out, he is a good guy and he owns a Scion also.

As far as a car wash, if I have someone do it, I go to Los Olivios in Downtown Phoenix (3rd Street & McDowell - 100% hand wash), other than that, I do it myself at a manual carwash or in my own driveway.

Ok, changed my auto insurance and added full glass to it. I'll wait a couple days, then make the claim.
What are some good companies around here to do the actual work?
I'd love to make HIN this weekend, but my "honey-do" list is a mile long.

BTW: Welcome to AZ!

HIN does not officiall open until 5:00 PM on Saturday, if you can find a way to make it. If not, you will have to come out and meet us at a local meet. Typically most meets and Roll Calls are on www.scionetics.com.

Thanks guys. my reply posted after a couple more of yours had (I was doing the insurance thing). I'll probably wash the car myself. There's no way a wand is getting the bugs off, and I'm not using a car-wash brush.
