Default We need to have an unspoken rule at the meets from now....

At the end of the poker run at Avondale Scion Kenneth (KrAzY-ScionCE) had his PW xB's hood open. I peeked in and asked "Oooo, you got the YDR intake in there huh?". His fiancee immediately turns to him "You got an intake? When did you get it? How much was it?" and you can just see an "UH OH" on his face. I tried to salvage the situation by telling her that the YDR is sooooooo much cheaper than the other ones.

Just earlier when I was lining up to take off from Camelback Scion, Kenneth came over to my box and we were talking about my Camry navigation and he said "Man I don't think I would want to spend $1600 on it, I'll use a map instead". My girlfriend didn't point it out at the time, but on the way back to her house out of no where she went "$1600 huh? Yeah I heard earlier, I thought you told me it was pretty cheap.". Good thing she enjoyed herself alot at the poker run and was in a good mood, or she'd go on me.

So next time when you see the guy's significant other right next to him, please don't point out the mods.

Yeah I noticed! It was a bummer that you had to drive AND try to navigation yourself, so it's all good.

It was nice to have a navi so I knew where and when to turn ahead of time.

Anyone can talk mods with my wife and I anytime, she hates stock so any mod is a good mod as long as it doesnt cost a ton of money .

Do what I did, find something your girlfriend is totally into and she spends lots of money on, then the next time she says something about your mods, just say,"Hun, I will stop spending money on car parts, when you stop spending 500 dollars on purses, I don't care if they ARE limited edition."

It works every time.

LOL this is a funny thread..... One of my buddies are like this with the hot rods. I guess there is a bright side to being single for now... but if I was dating or married I wouldn't lie about the cost of the parts cause I know she would find out anyway.

I tell my girl the suggested retail on the part always first, like the sc "$3200" and when I finally get her "ok with that" I get it allot cheaper or at dealer price saving a few hundred and it makes her happy! "You saved how much sweetie? that is great!!!" hahaha Thank goodness my girl is a gearhead or I would be screwed!

Or buy them a car that cost twice what yours does and then you can buy mods to try and level out the difference.
