Andy Jankowicz Benefit/Candlelight Bowl June 3rd Palos Hills
Andy & Ginny Jankowwicz have been residents on Palos Hills for the past 35 years. Both have been active members of Sacred Heart Church. They have 4 children, 1 son and 3 daughters.
Andy was diagnosed with Hemangiopericytoma (or HGC.) This is a very rare vascular tumor that can metastasize the lungs, liver, bones, and brain. For Andy, this disease began with an orbital HGC tumor in the right eye that was sergically removed. A few years later, another HGC orbital reoccured in the right eye. Surgery was done followed by radiation therapy, thus leading to blindness.
since HGC is so rare, knowledge and information about this disease is limited. Andy has seen 5 oncologists. The yall concuded that there is no treatment or cure for this type of cancer. At preset Andy has two large tumors on his liver, which are inoperable. Recent scans show thatthere are now 2 more masses behind the right eye.
Ok guys, My father is a captain on the CFD and this man is a father of one of his fireman (Andy Jankowicz Jr Eng. 46). One month ago a candlelight bowl was set up in order to raise money for the familys medical bills due to shortages of coverage. In the process of getting ready for this even Andy Jankowicz Sr. passed away as a result of the cancers. His family has been left with the burden of covering the medical bills that were left behind. I will be attending this even and i thought I would post up and see if anyone else would be interested in joining me...
here is the info:
The Andy Jankowicz Sr. Benefit
Candlelight Bowl
will be held
Saturday June 3rd
at Palos Lanes on
11025 Southwest Highway
Doors open at 6pm / dinner at 630
Bowling at 8pm
Donation of $25 to attend
Again, this is not for cancer research, it is simply to help a family that is in need. I will attemp to scan in the flier and post it up for those of you that are interested in printing one off.
Keep in mind that 3 games of bowling, shoes, and dinner would cost a bit more than $25 anywhere else.
Thank you in advance.

i was thnking about this about an hr ago.
i think we should try and do our sehicago car show and make proceeds go to this. just a thought. we have like 30 people know, we can at the very least have a meet at the firehouse and we each donate a couple of bucks and ask spectators to donate whatever they can
