Well it is day 9 and a lot has gone on in the past few. Nathan gave up on day 5 and Matt was disqualified on day 7 for not making it back to the xB it time after break!
So now its up to Julie and Liz too win this thing! It's not as easy as it looks and I'm sure the days just don't fly by!
Would you give up knowing that the second you do your Scion mate wins the xB? This may turn in to deadlock!
Thanks to the Z104.1 crew they don't have to stay in the same spot everyday. The contestants get to drive the xB to different radio remote locations and chill!

Any tactics planned to drive your fellow contestants crazy? "If it comes down to it, I'll sing an annoying song over and over again. I tend to tap on things and hum. I get bored very easily and I try to keep myself entertained."
Any foreseeable weaknesses? "I can take anything!" What's the most outrageous thing you've done? "I've bungee jumped in Chicago."

Winning entry: "It's always great to receive a gift, but surely it is greater to give. I am writing on behalf of the most important woman to me: my mother. She is a woman who is always willing to give, even when she has nothing. Even after a cancer scare, she remains humble and now it is time for me to give to her. She helped me save up for my first car, even while she driving the same 17-year old vehicle. Let me have a chance to win this for my mother.

The 4 people can bring whatever they can fit in a duffel bag with them. I am not real sure on the breaks. I was told 3 ten minute breaks and 1/2 hour at midnight. They are going to have challenges durning the day to earn extra time and prizes such as food and stuff but we will see what happens. It starts at 8 am on Thursday so more details will be avalible then. I will keep you posted and the webcam should be up and running by then. www.smartmotors.com

OFFICIAL RULES
March 30, 2005

1. Z-104 listeners will be instructed to mail or email a letter 104 words or less, of why they deserve to Live In It To Win It. All entries must be post marked no later than Friday, March 25, 2005 at 12 Midnight. The promotions department at Z-104 will pick four contestants and four alternates by judging the letters on originality, creativity, and content. The four contestants will be announced Tuesday, March 29, 2005 on The Connie and Fish Radio Network.

2. Each contestant and alternate must attend a meeting on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at WZEE (Z-104) from 11:30 - 12:30pm for an "orientation" of the rules and procedures and to sign release forms. At that time, the four contestants will draw seat positions in the car. Each day the event continues, contestants will rotate their seat in a clockwise direction. The drawing of numbers and entering the car will not be delayed for any reason whatsoever. The four contestants will "live" in the vehicle. The last person remaining in the vehicle will win the 2005 Scion XB from Smart Scion and Z-104. Contestants who are not present at the specified day and time will forfeit any claim to win, and substitutions of people will not be allowed. Contestants will be subject to disqualification if in the opinion of medical personnel continued participation could pose a health risk to that person or any of the other contestants. Decisions of the judges are final. In addition, the contest will be monitored for the duration of the contest. Any negotiating of conspiring by contestants will result in immediate disqualification.
3. The following are rules with which all contestants must comply to remain eligible. Failure to do so will result in the contestant being disqualified.

A. No items, other than food, beverages, and one book, will be permitted inside the car, unless provided by Z-104 (no electronic devices, cell phones, etc.)

B. No change of clothes or indecent exposure will be permitted in the car. Clothing may enter the car only if permission is given to the contestant by a Z-104 judge. Clothing such as sweaters, sweatshirts, and jackets may be taken on and off inside the car. All articles must remain inside the car.

C. Arrangements for food are the sole responsibility of each contestant, from time to time the station may provide the contestants with food but that will not be announced in advance.

D. A ten (10) minute break will be allowed every three hours (12midnight, 3am, 6am, 9am, 12noon, 3pm, 6pm, 9pm). Any contestant not back in the car within ten (10) minutes will be disqualified. No exceptions will be allowed. Contestants must break at the same time.

E. One half-hour break will also be allowed daily at 12midnight; this break will replace the scheduled 10-minute break.

F. The staff at Z-104 reserves the right to put anything in the car at any time.

G. No smoking, any tobacco products, illegal drugs or consumption of alcoholic beverages will be permitted in the car. No alcoholic beverages or illegal drug use will be permitted outside the car. Contestants may be subject to a random drug test.

H. Seats will be pre- adjusted and no further adjustments will be permitted. Z-104 and Smart Scion will be placing a web cam into the car, the web cam and the computer are not to be handled or moved by the contestants.

I. Intentional rocking of the car will not be allowed. This, of course, excludes normal motion that may come with shifting in your seat.

J. Contestants may not engage in unwanted physical contact with other contestants, above and beyond the normal occasional bumping in the course of entering and exiting the vehicle. Verbal abuse or heckling may result in disqualification after review from Z-104 judges!

K. Everyone must use bathrooms.

L. No use of profanity will be permitted.

M. Z-104 will be conducting a variety of “Reward” challenges throughout the contest. All participants must participate in each challenge or they will be automatically disqualified from the contest. Challenges will be solely for “Reward” including luxury items, longer breaks, additional prizes and other items to be announced during the contest.

4. Prize is non-transferable. Contestant must have valid driver’s license and show proof of automobile insurance.

5. Z-104 shall not have responsibility for failure to claim any prize based on mechanical or printing errors, or allegations of telephone difficulties.

6. Z-104 retains the right to reject any entry for which it believes to be incomplete or illegible.

7. The winner must show proof of identification, including social security number, and sign an Internal Revenue Service form W-9 and affidavit of eligibility and release.

8. By participating in this contest and/or accepting any prize in this contest, the winner releases WZEE (Z-104)/Clear Channel Communications, Smart Scion / Smart Motors and any additional participating sponsor (s) from any and all liabilities associated with the contest and/or said prize.

9. Decisions of the Z-104 judges are final.

10. WZEE (Z-104) reserves the right to end the contest at any time for any reason without notice. In the event that this happens, Z-104 will pick one of the remaining contestants at random.

11. WZEE (Z104) and Smart Scion reserve the right to postpone the contest if two or more contestants are sick with Flu like symptoms within a 24-hour period.

12. Void where prohibited by law.

13. Anyone, 18 years or older, living or working in the WZEE (Z-104) listening area is eligible to enter. Provided they meet criteria established within these rules.

14. No purchase necessary.

15. The grand prize is as follows: A 2005 Thunder Cloud Metallic Scion XB.

16. Alternates will also be qualified as well; in the event a contestant is not present at Smart Scion on Thursday, March 31, 2005 when the contest begins at 8:15am. Contestants must be 18 years of older to participate and have a valid driver's license.






17. Each contestant (and alternates) must be present at Smart Scion on Thursday, March 31, 2005 at 7:00am. Contestants will be placed in the car at 8:15am sharp. If a main contestant is not present at that time, the alternate will be placed in the car. Alternates will be chosen during a random drawing (i.e. out of hat).

18. The four finalists will "live" in the car until only one person is remaining in the car. This person automatically wins the car.

19. WZEE (Z-104) shall have the final decision on any and all claims concerning this contest. WZEE reserves the right to disqualify any winner if the contest rules are not followed. Misrepresentation by any contestant will disqualify them from participating in the contest.

20. Each participant must sign a release form and a copy of the rules prior to entering the car.

21. Participants agree to have their voices, pictures, web cam video transmissions, names and likeness used by WZEE (Z-104) and Smart Scion for promotional and publicity purposes without compensation. Furthermore, participants agree to have their conversations taped for broadcast or played on the air without further notice.

22. Winner is responsible for all Federal, State and Local taxes and applicable license and registration fees.

23. Contestants and participants agree to release and hold sponsors (WZEE/Z-104, Clear Channel Communications, Smart Scion / Smart Motors) agents, or employees of (WZEE/Z-104, Clear Channel Communications, Smart Scion/Smart Motors) from any liabilities of any injury or damage out of or in connection with the contest.





24. Contest rules are available on the Z-104 web site at www.z104fm.com or at the WZEE Studios during normal business hours of by sending a self addressed stamped envelope to: 2651 South Fish Hatchery Road, Madison, WI 53711.

25. Employees of WZEE, Clear Channel Communications, other Broadcast Groups, participating sponsors and their families are not eligible to participate in this contest.

26. WZEE (Z-104) reserves the right to revise any of these rules at any time.

27. These rules were last revised on March 30, 2005. Any further revisions will be furnished to the participants at once.

That's one of the coolest contests I've heard of.

They do this every year in Chattanooga for a stinkin saturn. Also when I lived in Oklahoma they had a contest at the State Fair for a GEO STORM. It was called the B-O GEO. Cause those people stunk up the car (outside in the heat). Why you would want a car that stinks like 3 other people is beyond me.

 

it does look pretty cool i would have loved to given it a shot. i am pretty annoying so i am sure those people would have jumped out sooner or later.

hell i snore at night so they would not gat any sleep and i would eat nothing but gassy foods it would be great lol

they did one of those here in dallas ft worth area but the people stay outside the car and you had to keep your HAND on the truck at all times so if you fell asleep you would have been pretty much screwed.

I like rule K. Without that, it could get really disgusting!

About the book, do you have to keep the same one, or can you have friends bring you new ones? I could sit for a long time if supplied with sufficient reading material.

Y'know, the contestants should be supplied with a laptop so they can interact with us. We could cheer them on in their madness!
