I am looking to buy headers for my tC but dont kknow where to start. Also looking for a cold air intake. Need advise. Thanks

 

my advice coming from a line of different set-ups, dont waste your money on a header. the gains are minimal and the sound is disgusting. You will need a resonator welded into your mid-pipe but by the time your all said and done, the money spent is not worth 10 whp. stick with a megan mid-pipe and a axle back.

as far as a intake goes, you cant go wrong with an injen intake which cant be converted from sri (short ram...inside motor bay) to cai (cold air intake) and looks great. search around the classifieds, you can find a used one in great condition fairly cheap!

How long have you had them, what condition, and how much?

 

well its still on the car. ill say about 12k have the box and stickers as well lol. great condition no cracks or anything. i have basically a new gasket along with it, i replaced the old gasket when i got a smog about 1.5k miles ago. $220 shipped.

 

Question? Did they improve performance? Sounds good though.

 

umm a little bit. felt quicker, the air is a lot more free flowing. nothing too drastic though.

i have found my megan headers and trd exhaust sounds real good...not raspy at all and is discrete enough for if the 5-0 is on ya ...just a thought for you...the megan headers don't cost too much at all so if you dont like them...just get them jet coated

Watching this thread. Gr8t topic cause I am looking to go the same route. Changing my headers and exhaust. But scared of f**kin up something with my engine when i get the headers replaced.

 

do yourself a favor, dont get a header...

 

Header + tC+ aftermarket exhaust = Crazy stupid rasp.
Only way to eliminate it is with a big ol' resonator welded in there.

 

= to much money, and not enough gains to make it worth it!
